To get the Blade Of Glorp in Fisch, reach level 888, speak to Glorp beside the crashed UFO in Roslit Bay, build the Translator through Dr. Crookspine’s quest, then catch 15 Gleebous-mutation fish and return to Glorp. The reward also includes the Gleebin’ title and Glorp’s Saucer boat.
Before you start
- You must be level 888 or higher to start Glorp’s quest. The Translator may reportedly be craftable earlier, but it does not let you bypass this level requirement. See the Glorp wiki entry.
- Go to Roslit Bay and find Glorp beside the crashed UFO. Speak to him before visiting Dr. Crookspine; the first conversation displays unreadable alien dialogue and unlocks the Translator questline.
- There is no verified chat or console command for this quest. Progress comes from NPC conversations and fishing.
The UFO is around -1520, 141, 340, although published GPS references vary slightly. Use the crashed UFO as the landmark rather than treating either coordinate as exact. GPS and Fish Radar are the relevant named in-game tools, but current guides do not document a reliable menu path or interaction-button label.

Step 1: Speak to Glorp at the crashed UFO
Travel to the UFO area in Roslit Bay and interact with Glorp. Do not begin with Dr. Crookspine. After Glorp’s initial unreadable conversation, travel to the oil rig north of Roslit Bay and find Dr. Crookspine in his laboratory.
The laboratory is listed around -1915, 225, -530 to -1920, 227, -525. These are approximate references, so use the oil rig and laboratory as your visual guides.

Step 2: Give Dr. Crookspine a Gleebous fish
Dr. Crookspine’s first objective requires one fish with the Gleebous mutation. The species and value do not matter; the mutation is the requirement.
Catch this fish in the water around Glorp’s crashed UFO. A Gleebous abundance zone is the preferred place to fish, and Fish Radar can help identify one. If you already have a valid Gleebous fish, you can use it rather than catching another.
Return to Crookspine and turn in the fish to advance to the Translator phase, commonly identified as “Confusing Creature.”

These are trash-rarity catches, so use Garbage bait and a low-luck rod when possible. Guides specifically mention the Training Rod, Bone Rod, and Flimsy Rod as suitable choices. The goal is to improve your chance of pulling trash rather than valuable fish.
How difficult are the Translator catches?
The parts apply negative progress-speed modifiers during the fishing minigame. One current guide lists approximately −25% for the Device Display, −40% for the Translator Core, and −30% for the Communication Circuit; other coverage gives a broader range of roughly −20% to −40%. Expect the catches to be slower and harder than ordinary trash, especially the Translator Core.
- Fish offshore until you obtain the Device Display.
- Fish in Roslit Bay until you obtain the Translator Core.
- Fish around Sunstone Island until you obtain the Communication Circuit.
If a part does not appear immediately, keep the location and trash-focused setup correct. The researched guides do not establish a definitive drop-rate figure for these components.

Current guides do not reliably document a universal inventory button, “Use” label, or requirement to equip the Translator. Follow the available interaction prompt in your version of the game rather than relying on an assumed menu path.
Step 5: Start Glorp Bonding
Return to Glorp beside the crashed UFO. With the Translator obtained, his dialogue becomes readable and the next quest, “Glorp Bonding,” begins. It requires 15 fish with the Gleebous mutation.
Step 6: Catch 15 Gleebous fish
Fish around Glorp’s UFO in Roslit Bay, preferably inside a Gleebous abundance zone. Current guides state that the mutation required for this quest does not come from fishing elsewhere, so do not waste time moving to unrelated fishing spots.

There is no reliable official odds figure for Gleebous. Current guides variously cite 1.48% and approximately 5%, so neither number should be treated as definitive. Your practical objective is simply to continue fishing in the UFO area until the game registers 15 valid Gleebous fish.

- Use Fish Radar to locate a Gleebous abundance zone when available.
- Stay near the crashed UFO while farming the required fish.
- Track your progress in the quest state or turn-in behavior rather than assuming every catch counted.
Step 7: Claim the Blade Of Glorp
After the 15th Gleebous fish, return to Glorp and interact with him again. Completing the quest awards:
- Blade Of Glorp rod
- Gleebin’ title
- Glorp’s Saucer boat
Quick troubleshooting
Glorp gives unreadable dialogue
That is expected during the first conversation. Make sure you spoke to Glorp before visiting Crookspine, then proceed to the oil-rig laboratory.
The quest will not start
Check your level. The current requirement is level 888 or higher. Having a Translator, or being able to craft one, does not remove the level gate.

Crookspine rejects my fish
The fish must have the Gleebous mutation. Its species and value are not the deciding factors.

I cannot find a Translator component
Confirm both the location and the trash-focused setup: open Ocean for the Device Display, Roslit Bay for the Translator Core, and Sunstone Island for the Communication Circuit. Garbage bait and a low-luck rod are recommended.
The Gleebous fish are not counting
Farm around Glorp’s crashed UFO in Roslit Bay, ideally within a Gleebous abundance zone. The quest requires 15 mutated fish, not merely 15 fish caught anywhere.
Important name and version clarification
The reward is named Blade Of Glorp, not “Blade of Gorp.” Some guides use the latter as a typo. One fan guide associates the rod with version 1.61.0, but the available research does not corroborate that attribution with an official update note, so it should not be treated as confirmed version history.
