The Fabulous Rod in Fisch is unlocked by completing a four-stage questline for the Fabulous Deity in Calm Zone. You need to be at least Level 1000 to begin, and the current rod has 300% Luck, infinite maximum weight, a 49% Fabulous mutation chance, and zero base Control.
That last stat is the rod’s defining weakness: its passive effects can accelerate catches dramatically, but the starting reel bar is narrow. For most players, a Control-focused enchant is the safest setup; weight-focused builds are better if you can consistently handle the reel minigame.

How to get the Fabulous Rod
- Reach Level 1000.
- Travel to Mariana’s Veil, normally by submarine.
- Find Fabulous Deity on a bridge in the upper part of Calm Zone. One location reference lists the NPC at approximately -4303, -11003, 3655.Source
- Activate the questline and complete each objective in order.
- Return to the deity when a stage requires a turn-in, then start the next stage.
The quest stages are sequential, so later objectives remain locked until the preceding quest is complete. Targets caught before you activate the relevant quest do not count. Activate the quest first, then begin farming its required fish.Quest and location reference

Fabulous Rod quest requirements
The current wiki listing gives these four stages:
| Quest | Requirements |

| 2nd Quest | 200× Dumbo Octopus; 1× Sunken Ancient Depth Serpent; 1× Shiny Rainbow Cluster Voltfish |

There is a naming discrepancy for the first stage’s walnut target: the current wiki calls it Nova Sparkling Frozen Walnut, while another guide uses Sparkling Nova Frozen Walnut. - If a later stage is not visible, finish and turn in the previous stage first.
Fabulous Rod stats
| Stat | Current value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 100% |
| Luck | 300% |
| Control | 0 |
| Resilience | 50% |
| Maximum weight | Infinite |
| Disturbance | +3 |

The rod also grants +25% fish weight. Its high Luck, infinite capacity and weight passive make it suitable for valuable or very heavy catches, but zero Control makes it considerably less forgiving than the stat block may initially suggest.Current stats
Fabulous Rod passives explained
Fabulous mutation
Each catch has a listed 49% chance to receive the Fabulous mutation, which carries a 9.6× value multiplier. This is the rod’s main money-making passive, although the exact result still depends on the fish, other mutations and the game’s live systems.

Progress-bar stabs
Every 0.25 seconds, the rod has a 25% chance to stab the progress bar for 3% progress. After three stabs, it grants +200% Forced Progress Speed and +0.2 Control. Those temporary effects decay over roughly three seconds.

That makes an enchant that improves control especially valuable for difficult fish.

Best enchants for the Fabulous Rod
Best general-purpose setup: Magnitude Might + Unshakeable
The listed sovereign setup is Magnitude Might, using 2 Pillars, with Unshakeable as the secondary enchant. This is the strongest all-around recommendation when you want to compensate for the rod’s zero Control and fish in any fluid. It prioritizes consistency rather than merely increasing the rod’s already impressive weight potential.Enchant recommendations
Best sovereign weight setup: Starforged Spirit
Choose Starforged Spirit with 3 Pillars if maximum fish weight is your priority. The listed benefits include increased weight, more Resilience and the ability to fish in any fluid. This setup is aimed at players who are comfortable managing a narrow reel bar or who value the largest possible catches over ease of use.

Best normal weight setups: Sea Overlord or Sea King + Sea Prince
For a normal, weight-focused build, the current recommendations are Sea Overlord or Sea King as the primary enchant, paired with Sea Prince as the secondary. These options complement the Fabulous Rod’s +25% weight passive and infinite maximum weight.

Best normal control setups: Herculean, Controlled or Unbreakable + Cryogenic
If the zero Control stat is causing missed catches, use Herculean, Controlled or Unbreakable as the primary enchant, with Cryogenic as the secondary. These combinations directly address the rod’s handling problem, while Cryogenic adds a chance to freeze fish.

Which enchant should you choose?
- Choose Magnitude Might + Unshakeable for the best broad-use sovereign build and improved handling.
- Choose Starforged Spirit when weight, Resilience and access to any fluid matter more than the easiest reel experience.
- Choose a Sea Overlord or Sea King setup for normal weight farming.
- Choose Herculean, Controlled or Unbreakable + Cryogenic if you regularly lose fish because the starting reel bar is too narrow.
There is no single best enchant for every player. The rod already supplies exceptional Luck, mutation value and carrying capacity, so control is generally the better quality-of-life investment unless your technique is reliable enough to exploit a weight build.
Fabulous Rod mastery rewards
| Mastery quest | Requirement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Glamorous Haul | Catch 3 Fabulous Colossal Ethereal Dragons | +15% fish-weight boost for the rod |
| Style and Substance | Catch 10 Shiny Sparkling fish with the Fabulous Rod | Glistening title |

The mastery rewards are separate from the four acquisition quests. You can work on them after obtaining the rod, but the listed requirements specifically require catches made with the Fabulous Rod where stated.Mastery rewards
Outdated Fabulous Rod information to ignore
Older guides may still be useful for broad route ideas, but several commonly repeated figures no longer match the current listing:
- 500% Luck: outdated; the listed current value is 300% after version 1.69.0.
- 26% Fabulous chance: outdated; version 1.91.0 raised it to 49%.
- 13.5×, 16.5× or 9.3× multiplier: historical values; the current listed Fabulous multiplier is 9.6×.
- 100% Forced Progress Speed: outdated; version 1.59.0 raised it to 200%.
- Old third-quest quantities: the current listing gives 1 Sunken Spectral Serpent, 30 Baby Pond Emperors and 3 Sunken Brine Phantoms, not the often-repeated 3, 50 and 1 arrangement.
The rod has also received other historical changes: mastery was added in version 1.64.0, the mutation multiplier changed from 9.3× to 9.6× in version 1.63.4, and version 1.57.0 increased stab progress from 1.5% to 3% while adding the +25% fish-weight passive. The current in-game quest UI should take priority if a future update changes any requirement.
Important UI limitation
Available current references do not verify an exact menu path, button label or command for starting, tracking or completing the Fabulous Rod questline. Do not rely on an alleged command to obtain or activate the rod. Travel to Fabulous Deity, interact with the NPC and follow the live quest interface.
