To catch Mossjaw in Fisch, fish at Mossjaw Rest in the Lost Jungle temple during a Mossjaw Hunt. The hunt does not follow a guaranteed clock schedule: an unofficial Fisch Wiki archive reports a chance-based spawn, so you may need to wait. Glowworm is the listed preferred bait, and the catch is difficult because Mossjaw moves erratically and sharply slows locked progress.
Where to find Mossjaw
Mossjaw is an Exotic fish associated with Lost Jungle (Temple). Its fishing location is Mossjaw Rest, the pool behind the gate by the temple center. Fish in that abundance while a Mossjaw Hunt is active. The location and hunt requirement are reported by the unofficial Fisch Wiki archive’s Mossjaw page.

When a Mossjaw Hunt starts
The archive reports a 25% chance for a Mossjaw Hunt to spawn every 10 minutes based on server time, and describes the average wait as at least 40 minutes. These are community-wiki reports, not an official developer schedule or guarantee; neither cited page gives a dependable real-world time for the next hunt. An Elder Mossjaw Hunt may appear instead of a regular hunt.
If no hunt is active
The Mossjaw Rest page says fishing in the pool when no hunt is active increases disturbance toward spawning one. Watch for a visible Mossjaw model or use Fish Radar as an indication that a hunt has begun. Neither method guarantees an immediate spawn.

How to catch Mossjaw
- Travel to the Lost Jungle temple and find Mossjaw Rest behind the gate by the temple center.
- Check for an active Mossjaw Hunt, using the visible Mossjaw model or Fish Radar as indicators.
- Fish in Mossjaw Rest during the hunt. If no hunt is active, fishing there is reported to increase disturbance toward one.
- Use Glowworm if available; it is the wiki-listed preferred bait. The source does not establish that it is required.
- Keep a safe position while fishing. The location page warns that swimming in the area drains oxygen quickly and may kill a player in roughly two seconds; do not swim into the pool.
What makes the catch difficult
The Mossjaw page describes erratic movement across the fishing bar and a -80% Locked Progress Speed penalty. It also lists an ability that can remove 3% progress and stop the control bar from responding for 1.8 seconds, with a four-second cooldown. These are reported game mechanics, not a tested catch strategy.
The cited pages do not identify a best rod, compare rod performance, or establish a guaranteed way to hook or land Mossjaw. They also do not confirm a required bait or unlock prerequisite. The pages are part of an unofficial, fan-made archive adapted from the older Fisch Wiki, rather than developer documentation, so treat their hunt and catch details as community-reported information.
