Yes—Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint can be played solo, with optional AI teammates. Solo success is less about rushing every fight and more about controlling how it begins: scout the area, prepare at a bivouac, choose settings that suit you, and retreat or heal before a bad engagement becomes unrecoverable.
1. Scout before choosing your entry
Use your drone to identify enemies and study the approach before you move toward a base. Ubisoft’s survival guide recommends crouching to reduce the risk of detection and going prone while operating the drone to keep a low profile.

Pay particular attention to rooftop snipers and rocket soldiers: spotting them early helps you decide on a route and which threats to address first. Prone camouflage depends on terrain, so use it on suitable mud or snow rather than assuming it will work on concrete. A suppressor can help preserve stealth; you can switch suppressors and customize weapons in Gunsmith.
2. Use stealth to control the fight—and leave when control is gone
Stealth buys time to remove dangerous targets and reposition. If enemies spot you, use cover, keep moving, and avoid crossing open ground. Remaining pinned down usually gives you fewer options than breaking contact and regrouping.

The Panther class’s smoke ability can break sightlines, including when you need a moment to bandage. No class or tactic is guaranteed to be best for every mission or settings combination; use smoke and stealth as tools, not as a substitute for adapting to the encounter.
3. Prepare at a bivouac before heading out
Bivouacs give you a place to fast-travel while out of combat, craft and replenish supplies, prepare items for the quick-access wheel, activate temporary bonuses, and choose a departure time. Ubisoft’s guide names syringes, rations, grenades, C4, and sync shot drones among the items associated with bivouac preparation or crafting.
Before leaving camp, check your objective, select a useful time of day, prepare items you expect to need, and settle on a loadout. Gather supplies in the field as well, so crafting and resupply do not leave you short later.

4. Tune the challenge to your preferred solo run
Ubisoft describes three experience options: Regular, Immersive, and Custom. Immersive removes gear level and offers tactical settings involving stamina management, ammo loss on reload, health regeneration, and injury risk. Custom lets you adjust the balance rather than accept one fixed set of constraints. See Ubisoft’s Ghost Experience overview for its description of these modes.

There is no single best configuration in Ubisoft’s guidance. If the game feels too forgiving, try increasing the challenge or adding tactical constraints; if it feels punishing, ease selected settings in Custom. Adjust difficulty and tactical options independently of whether AI teammates are present: Ubisoft says teammates do not change enemy difficulty settings.
5. Carry recovery options and break contact when needed
Injuries can hamper movement and aim, and may restrict you to a sidearm. Syringes can restore health and heal injuries. Bandages can patch you up when syringes are unavailable, but take time and leave you exposed. Reach cover before treating yourself.

If you are repeatedly outgunned, use terrain or cover to regroup rather than staying in a losing position. Ubisoft’s survival guide also suggests leaving a vehicle near the entry point to support a quick retreat and avoiding areas where enemies substantially exceed your level.

AI teammates are optional support in solo sessions. Ubisoft says they can assist in firefights, revive you, shoot from moving vehicles, and take part in sync shots. You can customize the team; weapon selection depends on owning or finding the relevant blueprint. Ubisoft’s August 2020 feature article says drones combined with teammates can take down up to seven targets at once. That is a stated gameplay capability, not a guarantee that every encounter will play out the same way.
