There is no reliable official ranking of the “most common” FiveM cheats. Cfx.re’s documentation instead describes several relevant attack surfaces: injected software and modified client files, plus abuse of networked events and insecure server resources. Platform anti-cheat, server configuration and carefully written resource code address different parts of that risk; none is a guarantee that every cheat or exploit will be stopped.
What kinds of FiveM cheating are documented?
Cfx.re does not publish measured prevalence rates or a ranked taxonomy of cheats. The categories below are documented attack patterns, not a claim about which ones players encounter most often.
Injected software and client manipulation
Cfx.re says its automated anti-cheat detects violative external programs that attempt to inject information into FiveM or RedM clients. That description identifies a detection target, not a complete list of cheat features or a detection rate. The platform’s ban FAQ, dated December 15, 2025, says linked accounts are banned when such activity is detected.
Abuse of networked events
FiveM resources use events to communicate between contexts. Cfx.re warns that cheats can let a client trigger events in contexts developers did not intend. If a networked event exposes an action without suitable checks, a client may try to invoke it or supply values that should not be under the client’s control.

Exploiting vulnerable resource logic
The risk is not limited to a particular cheat program: a poorly protected server event can accept client-controlled input or change important state without verifying that the player is entitled to the action. Cfx.re identifies money, player state, inventory, position, experience, permissions and roles as examples of values that should be checked using server-side information.
Modified client files and selected event abuse
Server configuration includes pure mode controls for modified client files and controls for selected network events. These settings have bounded scopes; they should not be treated as protection against every exploit. Their names, behavior and defaults can depend on the deployed artifact version, so use the current server command reference for the build you run.

How does FiveM anti-cheat work?
Cfx.re’s public description focuses on automated detection of violative external programs that attempt to inject information into FiveM or RedM clients. Its support FAQ says detected linked accounts are banned from FiveM and RedM. This is a platform-level enforcement layer: it is not a promise to detect every cheat, every modified file or every way of abusing a server resource.
Server owners should distinguish that platform enforcement from defenses they control. Platform anti-cheat addresses activity detected at the client/platform level; server settings govern selected file and network-event controls; resource code determines whether server actions and state changes are properly authorized.

How can a server prevent event exploits?
Register events for the right context
Use AddEventHandler for events meant to run only within the same context, such as client-to-client or server-to-server. These handlers are not networked. Use RegisterNetEvent when communication across contexts is actually required. Treat each networked event as an exposed boundary that needs server-side validation. Validate important state on the server
For every networked action, determine what must be true before the server carries it out. Check relevant money, inventory, position, experience, permissions, roles and player state using server-side values and methods. Do not accept a client-supplied amount, role or other sensitive value as proof that the player is entitled to an action.

Client checks can be useful as an additional measure, but Cfx.re warns they can be overridden. Server-side checks improve security even when anti-cheat is present; Cfx.re puts it plainly: “Even if you build a strong anti-cheat, adding checks on server events makes them more secure.”
Configure documented server controls deliberately
The server command reference documents sv_pureLevel for preventing modified client files, with levels that differ in which files they block, as well as controls for routing selected network events. Review the options and defaults for your deployed artifact version before changing them. A setting designed for one category of abuse is not a universal substitute for secure resource logic.

Review third-party anti-cheat and ban lists
Cfx.re permits anti-cheat resources subject to its terms and recommends using server-side code where possible. It also cautions that it cannot verify the quality of every global ban list: an unreliable list can keep players from joining many servers without sufficient cause. Assess the resource’s terms, scope and evidence behind its enforcement, and avoid treating a third-party ban as proof without review.
