If Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board! keeps crashing on Xbox Series X or S, follow KOEI TECMO’s troubleshooting sequence: test the network connection, fully power-cycle the console, then reinstall the game. KOEI TECMO says reinstalling will not delete save data. These are suggested troubleshooting steps, not a confirmed diagnosis or guaranteed fix.
1. Test the Xbox network connection
On the Xbox home screen, go to Settings > General > Network settings > Test network connection. If the console prompts you to install a system software update, accept it. KOEI TECMO recommends this as the first step; it does not establish that a failed network connection causes the crash. If the test fails, follow Xbox’s network troubleshooting guidance.
2. Fully power-cycle the console
- Hold the power button on the console for more than 10 seconds, until it turns off.
- Press the Xbox button on the console or controller to turn it back on.
- Launch the game again and check whether the crash recurs.
This is the second step in KOEI TECMO’s recommended sequence. It is a restart procedure, not evidence that the console has a hardware fault.
3. Reinstall the game without deleting its save
If the first two steps do not help, KOEI TECMO recommends reinstalling the game. Its support article says: “This operation will not delete your save data.” Follow these steps:

- Iconic locations from the anime, like Mt. Fujikasane and Asakusa, appear as boards in this game. Advance on the game board by rolling the dice!
- The game board switches between day and night. During the day, prepare for the night with events and minigames. At night, you will search for demons to defeat.
- Choose your favorite characters from the Demon Slayer Corps., including Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the Hashira! Nezuko appears on the game board to aid players as a support character!
- Compete against each other, or work together in teams of two in a variety of minigames! At certain moments, you will encounter powerful demons like Akaza, where all players must cooperate to defeat them!
- Become a Demon-Slayer swordsman and take on powerful demons!
- Open My games & apps > See all > Games.
- Highlight Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board! and open the menu.
- Choose Uninstall, then select Uninstall All.
- Open your Library and install the game again.
Do not choose an option to delete saved game data. The Xbox store lists the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with SEGA as publisher and CyberConnect2 as developer. Its listing says online play requires a paid subscription and the latest patch; keeping the game updated is sensible, but the listing does not say an outdated patch causes crashes. Check the Xbox store listing for platform and online-play details.
4. Contact KOEI TECMO if the crash continues
If the game still crashes after those steps, contact KOEI TECMO support. Include details that make the problem easier to assess:

KOEI TECMO provides a support route but does not promise a particular remedy. SEGA’s general Xbox guidance also recommends preserving saved game data during reinstalling and sharing the console’s system version and a detailed description of the fault; this is general Xbox guidance, not confirmation of a fault specific to this game. A crash limited to Sweep the Board! does not by itself show that the Xbox has a hardware problem. If several games fail or the console itself shuts down, check for system updates and use Microsoft’s Xbox Series X service guide to find the appropriate support or authorized service route. Avoid treating a single game’s crash as a reason to attempt console self-repair.
