If the game is installed on a microSD card and will not launch, try moving it to the Deck’s internal storage; one player reported that this solved their launch problem, but it is not a confirmed fix for other crashes.
First, identify when the crash happens
The right next step depends on whether the game fails before launch, during a scene, after waking the Deck from sleep, or after a game or SteamOS update. Those symptoms are not interchangeable, and the available reports do not establish one cause for all crashes.

Steam’s technical-issue page includes player-submitted reports such as a stalled loading screen and lost saves, but those entries do not diagnose a particular Steam Deck crash. Note the timing and what happened immediately beforehand before trying a change.
If the game is on a microSD card and will not launch
A player reported in March 2023 that the game would not launch from an SD card, then said it ran after being moved to internal storage. This is an anecdotal, historical report—not an official fix or proof that storage location causes other crashes.

- On the Deck, open the game’s page in your Steam Library.
- Open the gear-shaped settings menu, then choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files and select Move install folder.
- Choose the Deck’s internal storage as the destination and let Steam finish moving the game.
- Launch the game again. If the crash continues, record that result and the crash timing for support.
If the crash occurs during play or only after resuming from sleep, the reported storage workaround does not directly address that symptom. Do not assume moving the installation will resolve it.
What Steam Deck Verified does—and does not—tell you
Steam’s store listing says, “PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is now Steam Deck Verified!” That is useful compatibility context, not a guarantee that every individual installation, update, or device configuration will be free of crashes. The listing gives the game’s release date as March 8, 2023.

Steam’s support listing identifies Square Enix as both developer and publisher. It also shows a version 1.1 announcement concerning an achievement issue and added features; that announcement does not say the update fixes Steam Deck crashes. Windows requirements on the support page are not Steam Deck specifications.

Use Steam’s technical-issue page for PARANORMASIGHT. To make the problem easier to assess, include the Deck model, SteamOS version, game version, whether the game is installed internally or on a microSD card, when the crash occurs, and any error text. These details are useful context to provide; Steam’s page does not prescribe them as a required checklist.

No generally validated crash fix or official Deck-specific crash diagnosis is established by the available reports. Avoid treating a single player’s storage experience as a universal solution, and do not buy storage or repair hardware on the assumption that it will fix the crash.
