The original Fnatic DASH remains a well-regarded fast hybrid mouse pad, but it is no longer a straightforward new purchase: Fnatic’s official product pages list its sizes as sold out or no longer available for sale. Its 3 mm F15 surface suits players who want quick, smooth movement with some stopping control. In 2026, buy one only if you find a genuine unit in good condition at a sensible price—and don’t confuse it with the thicker, different DASH2 MAX.
What this review covers
This is a reassessment of the original Fnatic DASH, not the newer DASH2 MAX, the control-oriented FOCUS 3, or another Fnatic desk mat. The DASH is a 3 mm hybrid-style pad built around Fnatic’s F15 surface. Older independent reviews remain useful for its glide and construction, but their purchase links and pricing reflect a time when the product was being sold. Fnatic’s DASH collection and individual product pages now show the original line as unavailable.
Performance-wise, the DASH is most compelling for players seeking a fast surface that is not as starkly slick as a hard speed pad. The 2026 question is whether you can find one in good condition without paying a scarcity premium.
Specifications and size guide
| Variant | Dimensions | Thickness | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| DASH M | 360 × 280 mm | 3 mm | Compact desks or higher-sensitivity play |
| DASH L | 487 × 372 mm | 3 mm | Standard gaming setups |
| DASH XL | 475 × 475 mm | 3 mm | Low-sensitivity FPS play needing extra mouse room |
| DASH XD / XL Desk | 950 × 500 mm | 3 mm | Keyboard-and-mouse coverage across much of a desk |
Fnatic’s product pages list the dimensions for the M, L, XL, and XD / XL Desk. The names can mislead: XL is nearly square, while XD is the broad desk mat. Before buying the latter, measure usable desk depth and account for monitor stands, keyboard placement, and the front edge. ProSettings found the desk-size format could be awkward where monitors or desk edges sit close to the pad.

How the surface performs
Fast glide with some stopping resistance
The F15 is a hybrid-style surface between traditional cloth and harder speed pads. Independent reviews describe a smooth, quick glide for both broad swipes and fast flicks, while retaining enough resistance for stopping and small aim corrections. It is not frictionless, but players moving from a slow control cloth pad may need time to adjust and may initially overshoot.
Fnatic advertises 60% lower friction for the DASH. Treat that as a manufacturer claim, not a universal, independently established measurement; Windows Central said its experience broadly agreed with the direction of the claim. Real glide also depends on the mouse feet and the pad’s condition.
Tracking and mouse feet
ProSettings reported accurate tracking and no sensor hiccups with the mice it tested. That does not establish compatibility with every mouse, and very old sensors were not comprehensively assessed. Independent coverage also notes that the fast surface makes mouse-feet condition important: worn, dirty, damaged, or uneven skates can make movement feel rough or inconsistent. If a mouse skips or drags, inspect and clean its feet before concluding that the pad is at fault.
Comfort and control trade-offs
The thin, firm 3 mm build will appeal to players who prefer a stable surface rather than a cushioned pad. The smoother feel can be a welcome change from a sticky control surface, though individual texture comfort varies. Players prioritizing maximum stopping power or a soft cloth feel should look at Fnatic’s FOCUS 3 instead.

The original DASH uses a natural-rubber base, a polyester-blend F15 surface, and tight micro-knit edge stitching. Independent reviewers praised the stitching and desk stability; the low-profile edge is intended to reduce wrist or forearm irritation. There is no RGB, USB passthrough, or other electronics. Fnatic’s descriptions of “most durable” or “industry-best” construction are marketing claims, not standardized comparative durability results, and current coverage does not establish a specific long-term lifespan.
Rolling and flattening
The pad can be rolled for packaging or transport, but keep the gliding surface facing outward. Rolling it surface-inward can crease or damage it. To set it up, unroll it onto a flat desk and let it settle; do not aggressively reverse-roll it to force it flat. If a second-hand unit will not lie flat, ask about storage and inspect for permanent creases or edge lift.

- FASTEST SURFACE YET Fast, low friction surface maximizes speed while providing a uniform X Y axis. Beautiful holographic design will stay clean and clear thanks to a liquid resistant, non coated finish.
- SUPERB LIQUID REPELLENCY Non coated surface is remarkably resistant to liquid spills and treated to avoid oils. No stress and quick clean ups to get you back into the action.
- ANTI SLIP GRIP Solid 3mm thick natural rubber is dense and provides a concrete gaming platform. The backing lets your arm and wrist rest comfortable on the mousepad.
- MICRO KNIT STITCH Soft, durable, distraction-free, and high quality stitch ensures a flat surface and fray resistant border. This is FNATICs signature micro knit stitch, a stitch above the competition.
- SIZE EXTENDED DESK 37.41 x 19.69 x 0.12 inches provides generous space for mouse movements as well as hold a full size keyboard.
Spills and cleaning
Fnatic describes the surface as liquid- and sweat-resistant, but that does not mean waterproof. ProSettings found that liquid did not immediately soak through, yet could affect the pad and its glide relatively quickly. Wipe spills promptly rather than leaving liquid on the surface.
- Mix soap and water.
- Use a soft cloth or the soft side of a sponge and rub lightly in circular motions.
- Rinse with clean, warm water.
- Pat the pad dry.
- Air-dry it out of direct sunlight for at least 12 hours; Fnatic recommends 24 hours.
These care steps follow Fnatic’s instructions on the DASH XL product page.

Is the Fnatic DASH good for FPS games?
It is a sensible fit for FPS players who favor quick flicks, broad tracking movements, and a fast surface without giving up all stopping control. Low- or medium-sensitivity players may particularly value the available larger sizes. It is less suited to players who depend on a slow, high-control surface or want a plush base. There is no universal game-specific advantage: the useful question is whether the surface’s quicker glide matches your sensitivity and aim habits.
Original DASH vs. DASH2 MAX
DASH2 MAX is a different product, not the original DASH with an unchanged feel. Fnatic lists the newer model with a DASH2 surface and a 6 mm genuine PORON foam base; the original is the thinner 3 mm F15 hybrid pad.
| Feature | Original DASH | DASH2 MAX |
|---|---|---|
| Surface | F15 hybrid | DASH2 lightly textured cloth |
| Base | Natural rubber | 6 mm genuine PORON foam |
| Thickness | 3 mm | 6 mm |
| Feel | Faster, firmer, thinner | Softer, thicker, more cushioned |
| Availability | Official legacy pages show unavailable | Listed in Fnatic’s current product family; check regional availability |
| Best for | Players seeking the original thin fast-hybrid feel | Players seeking a plush base and newer construction |
See Fnatic’s DASH2 MAX product page for its current specifications. Choose it for cushioning, not as a guaranteed substitute for the original F15 feel.

- Low Surface Friction: The hard surface of the mousepad gives the right amount of resistance to the mouse feet for sudden starts, stops, and rapid movement in low-DPI gaming and improved cursor control
- Consistent Surface Texture: Provides optimal imagery for the sensor to translate mouse movement into cursor movement in high speed gaming
- Designed for Optimal Performance: A surface texture close to the optimal testing environment gives PC gamers access to the fullest Logitech G Mouse sensor accuracy and precision
- Stable, Rigid, No-Slip Base: Keeps the hard gaming mouse pad in place during intense gaming action
- Durable Multi-Layer Construction: Gaming mousepad made to last with a hard tracking surface and strong polymer core
Original DASH vs. FOCUS 3
Fnatic positions the FOCUS 3 as a softer cloth pad with more stopping power than the DASH. That makes it the more natural choice if the DASH sounds too fast or you prefer a control-oriented feel. The DASH remains the better match for someone specifically seeking smoother, quicker hybrid glide. Fnatic describes the FOCUS 3 on its product page; check the regional listing for current availability.

As of the current status shown on Fnatic’s official legacy pages, the original DASH sizes are sold out or no longer available for sale. Those pages and the collection show historical euro prices: M €24.99, L €39.99, XL €44.99, and XD / XL Desk €59.99. These are not current street prices. They do not establish US pricing, taxes, shipping, or what third-party sellers charge.
Before paying, check Fnatic’s regional shop, major retailers in your country, and used-market listings. Compare any asking price with currently available premium pads rather than assuming scarcity makes the DASH more valuable. For a marketplace unit, use this checklist:
- Confirm the exact size; XL and XD are very different shapes.
- Request a well-lit photo of the whole pad laid flat, plus close-ups of corners and stitching.
- Look for permanent creases, edge lift, fraying, glossy worn patches, or hardened rubber.
- Ask how it was used, cleaned, and stored, including whether it was rolled with the surface facing inward.
- Confirm the seller accepts returns if the item is misidentified or materially different from its description.
- Verify whether Fnatic’s stated two-year warranty applies to a used purchase, transfers to a later owner, and requires proof of purchase; do not assume coverage.
Fnatic states a two-year warranty on its product page, but that statement alone does not establish coverage for a second-hand or marketplace purchase. Confirm current terms directly before relying on it.
Who should buy the original DASH in 2026?
It makes sense if
- You specifically want a fast hybrid surface with more stopping resistance than a hard speed pad.
- You prefer a thin, firm 3 mm pad and broad movement room.
- You find a genuine new-old-stock or lightly used unit at a price that makes sense against current alternatives.
Choose something else if
- The price reflects scarcity rather than condition or performance, especially if it approaches or exceeds newer premium pads.
- You want maximum control, a soft cushioned base, or straightforward new-product returns and warranty coverage.
- The listing shows creases, edge damage, glossy wear, hardened rubber, or unclear model and size.
- You need a large desk mat but your monitor stands or desk layout leave little room around its edges.
The original Fnatic DASH is still a capable fast-hybrid pad; its weak point in 2026 is availability, not an established performance flaw. If you find a genuine, well-kept unit at a fair price, it can suit players who want quick glide with usable control. Otherwise, compare the current DASH2 MAX for a thicker cushioned feel or FOCUS 3 for greater control—and verify regional stock before ordering.
