Forge of Empires quests are objectives that guide empire progression, teach game mechanics, and add to the game’s lore. Some are mandatory, while others can be refused; event quests may also arrive on a schedule rather than all at once. Knowing which kind you are looking at helps explain what you can decline and why a new event quest may not appear yet.
What quests do in Forge of Empires
Quests give players objectives tied to the growth of their empire. InnoGames describes them as a way to introduce game mechanics and expand the lore of the world, its regions, and its rulers. The official overview presents the main story as a narrative path led by the advisor Ragu Silvertongue.
Quest categories and availability can vary as the game changes. The official support overview groups quests by their role and handling, while the community-maintained Forge of Empires Wiki quest overview also describes story, side, recurring, and event quests. Treat that broader taxonomy as orientation, not a definitive current rulebook for every age, server, or update.
Which quests can you refuse?
| Quest type | Role | Can you refuse or discard it? |
|---|---|---|
| Main story | Mandatory narrative and progression path led by Ragu Silvertongue. | No. The official overview says main story quests cannot be refused or aborted. |
| Advisor | Objectives offered in relation to your progress and situation. | Yes. Advisor quests can be rejected or discarded; most rejected advisor quests are permanently removed, according to the official overview. |
Before rejecting an advisor quest, consider whether its objective fits your current situation and goals. Do not assume you can recover it later: the official guidance says most rejected advisor quests are permanently removed. Some objectives may simply be poorly timed for your empire, but that does not make every quest disposable.
#1 Best Overall
- VIE FOR SUPEMACY: Europe in the Age of Absolutism: The 7 Empires Great Britain, Russia, France, Spain, Prussia, Habsburg and the Ottomans vie for supremacy on the old continent.
- THE GAME IS PLAYED OVER 8 DECADES with each Empires taking a turn and section actions. Build your legacy through the decades as you develop & influence the different empires.
- BUILD & DEPLOY: The Empire builds a new city or upgrades an existing one. Once cities are built or upgraded, players can deploy units to defend their territories or expand their empire.
- MOVE & FIGHT: Movement and combat are essential components in establishing control over the game world. Put pressure on your competitors by moving your ships and land units to establish your won flag in occupied regions.
- GAME VARIANTS: Change up your game! The standard game can span8 decades but you can expand to 9 or 10 decades, with each decade bringing new opportunities and challenges.
Why event quests stop appearing
InnoGames Support explains that some events divide quests into two release types: Rush quests, which are available immediately, and Daily quests, with one becoming available per event day. You can complete the Rush quests and catch up on the Daily quests already released. Once you reach the quest scheduled for the current event day, you must wait for the next daily release. Catching up does not unlock future Daily quests early.
The number of Rush quests and the event format can vary. Check the live event window for the current event’s quest availability and schedule. If you have completed everything currently released, the wait for the next Daily quest is expected behavior, not necessarily a problem with your game.

Example: Fellowship event
The official Fellowship event help page describes that event’s grand quest as accessible through the event window. Completing its quests earns Gemstones used to finance the banquet. Gemstones and the banquet objective are specific to this event, not a general reward or mechanic for all Forge of Empires events.
What can quests reward?
The community-maintained wiki lists possible quest rewards including coins, supplies, goods, military units, Forge Point packages, blueprints, and sometimes diamonds. This is a broad secondary-reference summary, not a guarantee that every quest offers these rewards or that the list covers every current event or update. Check the individual quest and its reward display in-game.

How to decide what to do next
- If it is a main story quest: treat it as part of the mandatory narrative path; the official overview says it cannot be refused or aborted.
- If it is an advisor quest: assess whether you can complete its objective now and whether you are willing to lose it permanently if you reject it.
- If it is an event quest: open the event window and check whether it is a Rush quest or a Daily quest that has not reached its release day.
- If you are looking for rewards: use the in-game quest details as the authority for that specific objective, rather than assuming a reward from a general community list.
Sources and scope
The rules for main story and advisor quests come from the official InnoGames quest overview. Event release timing comes from InnoGames Support’s event quest timing explanation. Event mechanics and quest counts can change, so the live game remains the best guide to what is available for a particular event.
