Hammer Fall did arrive in Fortnite Ballistic, launching on April 8, 2025, with update v34.30. But Ballistic was removed from Fortnite on April 16, 2026, according to Epic Games Support. That means Hammer Fall is not currently playable through Ballistic.
When did Hammer Fall come out in Fortnite Ballistic?
Epic announced Hammer Fall on March 24, 2025, and scheduled it for April 8 alongside v34.30. It arrived on that date in the new Test Grounds playlist, rather than as a finished environment. The playlist rotated Hammer Fall and Storm Chaser Cove alongside Skyline 10, giving players access to the new layouts while Epic gathered feedback. Epic’s announcement set the date; its v34.30 notes describe the release and playlist.

What kind of map was Hammer Fall?
Epic described Hammer Fall as a sprawling fortress, with belfries above the battlefield. Its March preview emphasized verticality, cover, angles to hold, and tight corners, setting it apart from Skyline 10. These are Epic’s descriptions of the intended layout, not independent gameplay impressions. Epic’s preview and release notes provide the details.
Why did Hammer Fall launch as a shell map?
The April 8 version was a shell map: its layout was available before its environmental art was finished. Epic said this approach let players try maps earlier and allowed the team to adjust layouts based on feedback and observe how matches flowed. The initial release was therefore an early stage of the map’s development, not its art-complete version.

What changed when Hammer Fall became art-complete?
On August 26, 2025, Epic said Hammer Fall was officially art-complete in v37.10. The update described shoreline trees and boulders, along with a throne room featuring stained glass and statues of fallen kings. That marked the completion of the environment’s art; it did not change the original release date. Epic’s v37.10 notes document the milestone and scenery.
Can you still play Hammer Fall in Fortnite?
No—not through Fortnite Ballistic as of October 8, 2026. Epic Games Support says Ballistic was removed from Fortnite on April 16, 2026. The support page also notes that first-person shooter tools remain available in UEFN, but that is not an announcement that Ballistic or Hammer Fall returned. Epic’s removal notice is the relevant source for availability.

Does a later Ballistic mention mean the mode returned?
No. Epic’s v42.30 notes, published October 1, 2026, include a fix related to Ballistic weapon audio. That maintenance reference does not say the mode is playable again; Epic’s support notice still identifies April 16, 2026, as its removal date. The v42.30 notes should not be read as a return announcement.
