Mother of Thorns was a Fortnitemares 2025 boss, not a boss confirmed to be available in Fortnite now. During the event, she could appear at any one of five Pumpkin Takeover areas; the crowned-skull icon on the map at the start of the round showed which one was active.
Where Mother of Thorns spawned
GameSpot’s October 17, 2025 quest guide listed five possible areas. The boss could appear at one of them in a given round, so use the match’s map marker rather than choosing a location from the list at random.
- West of Supernova Academy
- Center of Viney Shafts
- Center of Gourdy Gate
- South of Ranger’s Ruin
- Center of Pumpkin Pass
How to locate the active spawn
- At the start of the round, open the map and look for the crowned-skull boss icon.
- Travel to the Pumpkin Takeover area marked for that match.
- Team up for the encounter; GameSpot described the boss as part of a team-up quest.
The guide does not establish a particular route, grid coordinate, or location that is faster or more reliable than the others.
Why players fought her
Mother of Thorns dropped the Thorn Ripper, which was also needed for a Fortnitemares quest involving pulling consumables. Both the boss encounter and the weapon were event content.

When the boss was available
Epic Games introduced Doja Cat as Mother of Thorns in its Fortnitemares 2025 announcement, published October 9, 2025. Epic said the event ran from October 9 through November 1, 2025. The five spawn areas and map-marker behavior come from GameSpot’s event-period guide, rather than an official Epic location list. No later return is established here, so these are historical locations, not directions for finding her in a current match.
