How did the new island and match opening work?
Pacific Break moved Battle Royale to the Golden Coast. Epic named Battlewood Boulevard, Sandy Strip, Wonkeeland, Humble Hills, Bumpy Bay, and Classified Canyon among its locations.
With the Battle Bus out of commission, players Storm Surf to the island instead. Epic also listed new hot air balloons as a way to travel around the map. The Storm Surf opening and balloon travel were launch features described in the v39.00 notes.

New weapons
Epic’s launch notes list the Iron Pump Shotgun, Twin Hammer Shotguns, Deadeye Assault Rifle, Holo Rush SMG, Vengeful Sniper Rifle, Arc-Lightning Gun, and Forsaken Vow Blade as new weapons. The notes also feature Wingsuits, which let players launch and glide around the island.
Unvaults and returning items
The v39.00 notes list the Enforcer AR, Tactical Pistol, Dual Micro SMGs, Shockwave Grenades, and Clinger Grenades as unvaulted. They also list returning healing items, plus Shield Bubble Jrs and Port-a-Bunkers in Zero Build only.

These are the items Epic identified for the launch update; a launch list does not establish what remained in later live loot pools. Early reporting before the update included rumors and predictions, including an M16, so it should not be treated as the official v39.00 list.
What recovery options were added for downed players?
Pacific Break broadened what players could do while Down But Not Out (DBNO) and how squads could attempt a reboot:

- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. - Self-Revive Device: A downed player can revive themself if the device is in their inventory.
- Drivable Reboot Vans: Teams can commandeer a van and move it, taking a potential reboot to another location.
- More DBNO movement: Downed players can roll and tumble, sprint by spending Energy, use ziplines and ascenders, and get into a car’s passenger seat.
- Reboot Van access: Teammates can crawl or throw a downed player into a Reboot Van to be revived.
What changed in building and boss encounters?
Simple Build
Simple Build is a setting intended to make building more straightforward: look toward where you want to build and build. Epic describes the feature’s purpose, but the notes do not establish that it replaces the standard building controls.
Boss transformation
Players can defeat Human Bill, Hush, or Beach Brutus, take their loot and powers, and transform into that boss. Transformation provides health and shield benefits, infinite Energy, and a powerful ability. It also makes the player’s position visible to nearby opponents, a significant trade-off when choosing to use the form.

What quality-of-life and interface changes were included?
- Hitmarkers were redesigned, and indicators were added for empty ammunition.
- Players can aim down sights while jumping.
- Characters take longer to become hostile after accidental shots.
- After elimination, the game automatically spectates the nearest teammate.
- The emote wheel was redesigned, including a Collections view with improved sorting and filtering.
The emote wheel increased from six slots to eight. That is the explicit before-and-after numeric change in Epic’s notes; they do not provide a measured performance or player-count effect for these features.

No. Pacific Break is the historical launch of Chapter Seven’s v39.00 update, not the current season in October 2026. Epic’s Battle Royale news listing records later Chapter 7 seasons, including Season 4: Override on August 20, 2026.
