The notes cover the island, launch weapons and mobility, reboot changes, the Battle Pass lineup, and quality-of-life updates. They also gave dates for several mode returns; those were plans announced at launch, not confirmation of what is in rotation now.
What changed in Fortnite Pacific Break?
Epic framed Chapter Seven as a new era for Battle Royale on the Golden Coast. Its v39.00 notes describe a mix of new locations and traversal, a launch loot pool, revised ways to survive after being knocked, and interface changes. The details below reflect the launch announcement, not a live inventory or schedule.

What is the new Fortnite Chapter 7 map?
The Golden Coast is the new Battle Royale island named in the notes. Epic highlighted six locations:
- Battlewood Boulevard
- Sandy Strip
- Wonkeeland
- Humble Hills
- Bumpy Bay
- Classified Canyon
Players could travel on foot, by car, or in hot-air balloons. Wingsuits were also featured as a season mobility item, giving the launch update a focus on moving around the island as well as fighting.

Which weapons and items were in the launch loot pool?
Epic listed these weapons as part of the Pacific Break launch pool:
- Iron Pump Shotgun
- Twin Hammer Shotguns
- Deadeye Assault Rifle
- Holo Rush SMG
- Vengeful Sniper Rifle
- Arc-Lightning Gun
- Forsaken Vow Blade
The notes also described weapon-handling adjustments: layered recoil and smoother transitions when aiming down sights. Reload progress was saved when a player swapped weapons or was interrupted after starting a reload with an empty magazine.

Returning launch-pool items included the All Terrain Kart, Enforcer AR, Tactical Pistol, Dual Micro SMGs, Shockwave Grenades, Clinger Grenades, and healing items. In Zero Build, the listed returning items also included Shield Bubble Jrs and Port-a-Bunkers. These are launch-era pool details; the notes do not establish which items are available in the current game.
How did revives and being knocked change?
Pacific Break added options for players in the Down But Not Out (DBNO) state. Epic’s notes state: “If a Self-Revive Device is in your inventory, you can revive yourself while Down But Not Out (DBNO).” A knocked player could also roll or tumble away, sprint using Energy, use ziplines and ascenders, or get into a car’s passenger seat.

How the Reboot Van change worked
Reboot Vans became drivable. A teammate could crawl to a van or be thrown into it to be revived, and players could drive a van to relocate it before attempting a reboot. This changed the van from a fixed revival point into something a squad could move, while the Self-Revive Device offered a separate way for a downed player to get back up.
What other gameplay and interface changes were announced?
Match rules and encounters
- Defeating Human Bill, Hush, or Beach Brutus could trigger boss transformations.
- Storm phases could produce rift anomalies.
- Gold Bars no longer carried over between matches.
- A Simple Build setting was added.
Combat feedback and controls
Quality-of-life updates included clearer hitmarkers, indicators for ammo status, and the ability to jump while aiming down sights. Epic also described improvements to spectator behavior.

Emote Wheel and Collections
The Emote Wheel expanded from six slots to eight, with a Collections view and improved sorting and filtering. The extra slots provide more room for emotes on the wheel, while Collections and its controls help players browse and organize them.

Epic’s launch announcement named The Bride and Marty McFly alongside Fortnite original characters Miles Cross and Cat Holloway, as well as a new version of Dark Voyager. It also tied special styles to quests in different modes:

The launch notes identify these Battle Pass characters and quest requirements at that time. They do not establish whether the pass, its cosmetics, or the related quests are available now.

Epic’s November 29 launch article announced the following schedule. These are historical announcement dates, not a statement about the current mode rotation.

What did Pacific Break add for Creative and UEFN creators?
Epic’s creator documentation describes Pacific Break-themed galleries with building pieces, environmental pieces, and props for Creative and UEFN. UEFN content also includes foliage, decals, and landscape textures from the season’s theme map.
Wonkeeland’s dynamic props include a Ferris wheel, water slide, water jet impusler, and lazy river tube. The water jet impusler and lazy river tube require a water volume for the described gameplay. Epic also warns that glass visible on some UEFN gallery assets may not render in-game, so creators should check the rendered result rather than rely on the gallery preview.
