Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, titled Showdown, launched on Thursday, March 19, 2026, after a reported two-week delay. Before launch, coverage linked its teasers to The Foundation and the Ice King and discussed possible Bugs Bunny, Overwatch, and Toy Story collaborations—but those collaboration claims did not all have the same level of confirmation.
Showdown is a past season, not Fortnite’s current one. The details below distinguish what was reported about its launch and teasers from the pre-release leaks and rumors.

When did Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 start?
Chapter 7 Season 2 began on March 19, 2026, and was called Showdown. In a report published March 18, GameSpot said the season had been delayed by two weeks from an early-March schedule. Epic’s newsroom also listed a March 19 story announcing that Fortnite had launched on Google Play worldwide in time for Fortnite Showdown, independently aligning the season with that date.
GameSpot additionally reported that servers would go offline at 11 p.m. PT on Wednesday, March 18. That downtime detail was secondary reporting, not corroborated by an official notice in the sources cited here, so it should not be treated as an independently confirmed schedule.

What did the Showdown teasers reveal?
GameSpot’s pre-launch coverage described teasers setting up a mission to save The Foundation, with the Ice King involved. The report also said Dwayne Johnson would again play The Foundation. These are descriptions of the teaser coverage, not a complete or definitive account of every story beat in the season.
Which Chapter 7 Season 2 collaborations were leaked or rumored?
The pre-launch claims varied in source and certainty. GameSpot’s March 18 report discussed a playful producer remark, leaker claims, and rumors; it did not establish a final inventory of content that shipped.

| Claim | What was reported before launch | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|
| Bugs Bunny | GameSpot connected Fortnite producer Ted Timmins’s phrase “dial up the loony tunes” to Bugs Bunny. | A reported tease or inference, not proof of a Bugs Bunny Battle Pass appearance. |
| Overwatch | Leakers reportedly named Tracer, D.Va, Genji, and Mercy, with a possible Battle Pass appearance. | Unconfirmed. GameSpot noted the characters were absent from the key art and said the collaboration could be wrong or canceled. |
| Toy Story | Rumors mentioned Woody, Buzz, Zurg, a Pizza Planet delivery truck cosmetic, and an unidentified sidekick. | Rumored; the report did not establish these as official or Battle Pass content. |
| Captain America | GameSpot said he appeared frozen in a teaser and was reportedly not part of the Battle Pass. | Attributed pre-launch reporting, not confirmation of his final availability. |
These claims should not be read as a list of confirmed season additions. The available coverage is pre-launch, and the official material cited here does not provide a complete retrospective inventory confirming which rumored collaborations ultimately appeared in-game.

For the end date of a current Fortnite season, Epic Support says to check the Battle Pass web page or the in-game Battle Pass tab. It cautions that unforeseen factors can change the date, so an old estimate should not be reused as a current schedule.
