The fastest reliable way to level up in Fortnite Chapter 7 is to complete Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal quests first, then earn additional XP while playing the mode or Creative island that suits you. Quests work across several Fortnite experiences, while Creative XP is useful but limited by daily caps, diminishing returns, and island calibration.
Season note: The research snapshot for this guide was verified on August 8, 2026, when Chapter 7, Season 3: Runners was live. Epic’s Battle Pass page listed August 20, 2026, Eastern Time as that pass’s end date, so check the live Battle Pass and Quests tabs for the season, deadlines, and rewards currently available.

1. Complete quests before grinding matches
Quests are Fortnite’s most consistent XP source. From the lobby, open Quests, review the available categories, and select a quest to track. Then play the relevant Fortnite experience and complete its objective.

Epic identifies Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal quests as key ways to earn XP. Quest availability and rewards can vary by experience, but the system can include:

Daily quests reset daily, and Epic’s general support guidance says Weekly quests refresh every Tuesday. Individual quest lines can use different release timing, so rely on the dates and timers shown in the live Quests tab rather than assuming one universal reset hour. A practical quest routine
- Open Quests as soon as you enter the lobby.
- Track objectives that overlap, such as visiting locations, collecting items, dealing damage, or surviving.
- Choose the experience where several tracked quests can be completed in the same session.
- Check the tab again before logging off so short-duration or expiring quests are not missed.
2. Play other Fortnite experiences for shared progression
You do not have to stay in Battle Royale to advance every active pass. Epic says XP earned in Fortnite experiences can contribute to simultaneous pass progression, including the Battle Pass, LEGO Pass, OG Pass, and Music Pass. The Music Pass is the current name for what was previously called the Festival Pass.
That makes the best mode the one that lets you complete the most tracked quests comfortably. Play Rocket Racing if its objectives are active, use LEGO experiences for their available quests, or return to Battle Royale when its quest list offers the strongest overlap. 3. Use Creative XP strategically
Eligible Creative islands award Battle Pass XP, but Creative is not an unlimited XP engine. Epic states that Creative XP is subject to a daily cap, and it does not publish one universal current numeric cap for all players.

How to search for a Creative island
- Launch Fortnite and select Play in the top-left.
- Scroll down to reveal the Search bar.
- Enter the island name, island code, creator code, or custom key.
- Select the island from the results.
Island codes use the format xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. Epic’s current search instructions are available at this support page.
Do not treat a particular XP map as permanently guaranteed. An island’s behavior can change after updates, creator edits, calibration, or your own diminishing-return threshold. Verify that the island is awarding XP in-game rather than relying on an old video title or fixed community claim.
4. Understand why Creative XP slows down
Creative XP uses diminishing returns. After you earn enough XP across Creative games, payouts decrease. Repeating the same island or the same actions can reduce the payout more quickly. This reduction is automatic and cannot be customized by the island creator.
If Creative XP stops appearing entirely, Epic’s support guidance is to wait 24 hours and try again. Entering another code is not proof that unlimited XP has been restored.

“Very Large” accolade rewards are not fixed XP amounts
Creative creators can assign weighted accolade values such as Very Small, Small, Medium, Large, and Very Large. These labels do not represent fixed XP amounts. Actual payouts depend on factors including how often the accolade is awarded, how many accolades the island contains, and the island’s calibration.
A frequently awarded Very Large accolade can therefore provide less XP than an infrequent Very Small accolade. Epic’s developer documentation explains the accolade system at Using Accolades Devices in Fortnite Creative.
Calibration matters
Creative XP depends on the island’s accolade system being calibrated. A published island is evaluated to determine how often accolades are earned relative to play time. Accolade displays occur only after a published island has successfully completed calibration.

If the creator edits the island, it may need to be republished and recalibrated before XP awards behave normally. More detail is available in Epic’s accolade gameplay documentation.

5. Use Supercharged XP as catch-up, not a permanent boost
Supercharged XP activates automatically after you miss Daily or Weekly quest progress. It is designed to help recover missed XP; it is not a permanent multiplier and ends after the missed XP has been caught up.
You can identify it in-game when:
- XP notifications appear orange instead of purple.
- A lightning-bolt icon appears beside the XP bar.
Epic’s guidance says players can skip a day or more so missed quest XP can accumulate for catch-up. That does not increase the total XP available indefinitely, so deliberately skipping play is useful only when you need to recover missed progress. See Epic’s Supercharged XP explanation.

Fortnite also awards passive XP for playing. Longer survival, eliminations, and in-match objectives can contribute, but Epic does not publish a universal current XP table for every action and mode.
The efficient approach is to combine normal match activity with tracked quests:

- Choose quests that naturally fit your preferred mode.
- Survive and play objectives instead of abandoning a match immediately after one quest is complete.
- Use eliminations and exploration as additional XP opportunities, not as a substitute for the higher-priority quest list.
- Switch experiences when another mode offers several easier active quests.
What not to believe about Fortnite XP

Best XP plan for a normal play session
- Start in Quests: identify Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal objectives and track overlapping tasks.
- Pick the most efficient experience: use Battle Royale, Rocket Racing, LEGO, Festival, or another eligible experience according to the tracked objectives.
- Complete quests during ordinary play: combine objectives with survival, exploration, eliminations, and other match activity.
- Use Creative after quest progress: search for a published island, earn its available XP, and stop when rewards diminish or disappear.
- Check for Supercharged XP: use it to recover missed progress, not as a reason to expect unlimited boosted XP.
- Return after the Creative cooldown: if Creative XP stops, wait 24 hours before trying again.
Chapter 7 pass timing and rewards
For the Chapter 7, Season 3: Runners snapshot used for this guide, Epic’s Battle Pass page listed the pass as ending on August 20, 2026, Eastern Time. The pass cost 800 V-Bucks or was included with Fortnite Crew, and offered up to 800 V-Bucks in rewards.
Because that date has passed, do not assume those prices, rewards, or deadlines apply to the currently live pass. Check the official Fortnite Battle Pass page and the in-game Battle Pass screen for current-season information. The XP methods above are the durable part of the guide, but quest names, pass rewards, caps, and reset details can change.
Bottom line
For the fastest dependable progress, open Quests first, complete objectives across whichever Fortnite experience offers the best overlap, and use ordinary match XP as extra progress. Creative islands are a useful supplement, not an unlimited shortcut: expect a daily cap, diminishing returns, calibration issues, and a possible 24-hour wait when XP stops.
