Why are 90 FPS and 45 FPS missing?
Fortnite shows higher frame-rate choices only when the device supports them. Installing or running the game does not establish that a phone supports a particular target. Epic’s inspected guidance covers device-dependent availability, including up to 120 FPS on supported Samsung devices, but it does not confirm that every Android model offers 90 FPS or 45 FPS. Epic’s Samsung support article and its Android requirements do not provide an Android-wide list of devices eligible for those two exact settings.
The phone model, Android version, region, display configuration, and Fortnite version all matter to a device-specific diagnosis. The minimum requirements below tell you whether a device meets Epic’s baseline to run Fortnite; they are not a 90- or 45-FPS compatibility list.
What to check, in order
- Confirm the phone and target. Note the exact model, Android version, Fortnite version, and every frame-rate option currently shown under Settings > Video. Compare that information with Epic’s device-support guidance rather than assuming that a working installation guarantees a particular FPS choice.
- On Samsung, switch Motion smoothness to Adaptive. Open Android Settings > Display > Motion smoothness > Adaptive, then reopen Fortnite and check Settings > Video. - Update and repair the app if needed. Check for a Fortnite update. - Recheck the available choices. Return to Settings > Video. If 90 FPS or 45 FPS still does not appear, the official guidance does not establish a universal toggle or workaround that makes either option available on every Android phone. Its recommended specifications are Android OS 14.0 or later, at least 8 GB of RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or newer, Samsung Exynos 2400 or newer, or MediaTek Dimensity 9200 or newer. Epic warns that devices meeting only the minimum requirements may not offer the highest graphics settings. Does installing Fortnite another way unlock FPS?
No. Epic’s Android page lists native installation through the Epic Games Store for mobile or Google Play, and cloud play through named partners in supported regions. What information helps identify a device-specific problem?
If the checks above do not explain the missing choice, gather the exact phone model, Android version, Fortnite version, region, and a screenshot of Settings > Video. Those details can distinguish a Samsung display setting or a power restriction from a device-compatibility question. Epic’s published guidance does not establish a complete Android model-by-model list for 90 FPS or 45 FPS, so the available choices on the actual phone remain the key detail.
