How to check a Fortnite season’s end date
For the date shown for the current season, Epic Games Support directs players to the Battle Pass webpage or the Battle Pass tab in Fortnite. Epic cautions that unforeseen factors can change an end date and advises players to follow its official social channels for updates.
Fortnite OG seasons are not mainline seasons
This date refers specifically to Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 7, the rotating Chapter 1 experience—not the original Chapter 1 Season 7 from 2018 or a numbered mainline Battle Royale season. Epic introduced Fortnite OG as a mode revisiting Chapter 1 seasons and described its initial Chapter 1 Season 1 schedule as running from December 6, 2024, through January 31, 2025. Epic’s announcement provides that context.

Epic’s historical announcements also show that OG season dates have varied: it announced Chapter 1 Season 2 for January 31 through March 25, 2025 ET, and Chapter 1 Season 5 for August 7 through October 3, 2025 Eastern Time. These earlier windows provide context, but do not independently confirm the reported Season 7-to-Season 8 transition date. Season 2 announcement; Season 5 announcement.
What the available sources confirm
The exact March 31, 2026 dates are reported by TechRadar, a secondary gaming publication. Epic’s support guidance explains where to check season dates and warns they may change, but it does not confirm this particular historical transition. For a future season, use Epic’s live Battle Pass information rather than assuming an old schedule still applies.
