Fortnite OG launched on November 3, 2023, bringing back the Chapter 1 island starting with Season 5. The exact downtime start, matchmaking-disable time, and service-restoration time for that launch are not established by the available historical sources. The release is identified as v27.00 in reporting; “Update 4.05” is a secondary coverage label, not Epic’s unrelated v4.5 patch-notes page.
November 3 downtime schedule
No reliable historical source cited here establishes when Fortnite servers went down on November 3, 2023, when matchmaking was disabled, or when service returned. That means there is no verified start or end time to report, and an ordinary maintenance window or community estimate should not be treated as the schedule for this launch.

For a current maintenance window, check Epic Games Public Status and FortniteStatus. Epic Support says planned downtime is announced in an in-game emergency message about 24 hours beforehand: how to check Fortnite server status.
What Fortnite OG brought back
Epic’s November 3 launch announcement, as reported at the time, brought players to the Chapter 1 island beginning with Season 5. Returning locations included Tilted Towers, Greasy Grove, and Risky Reels. The launch-era selection also included the Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, Hunting Rifle, Damage Trap, Grappler, and Boogie Bomb, alongside Shopping Carts and All Terrain Karts. These describe the 2023 launch content, not Fortnite OG’s current map or loot pool.

What “Update 4.05” means
Historical coverage uses both v27.00 and “Update 4.05” for the November 3, 2023 Fortnite OG launch. The official Epic v4.5 patch-notes page is for a different update, so it should not be read as the notes for this launch. Launch-era OG Pass details
Epic’s announcement, reproduced in 2023 reporting, described an OG Pass with more than 50 items, priced at 950 V-Bucks, with up to 1,000 V-Bucks earnable through progression. The announcement also said the Pass was included with Fortnite Crew. These figures and terms apply to the historical 2023 offer and do not establish current pricing or availability. Planned November 2023 OG phases
At launch, Epic’s announcement laid out a planned sequence of follow-up phases: a Season 6 hotfix on November 9, Seasons 7 and 8 update on November 16, and Seasons 9 and X hotfix on November 23, 2023. These are dates in the original plan, not confirmation here that each event occurred as scheduled.
