Fortnite players reported suspected aimbots and wallhacks during the Simpsons-themed Springfield season, but those complaints do not establish that cheating became more common. The article behind the claim says Epic’s internal figures showed cheating rates declining; it provides no data or link to an Epic statement, so that assertion cannot be independently verified from the available reporting.
What players said was happening
A December 23, 2025 report by TRU Gamer recounted player concerns about suspected aimbots, wallhacks and opponents who seemed to track them through walls. These are allegations and perceptions reported by the article, not independently verified cheating cases.
The distinction matters: a suspicious death or a clip that looks unusual can document why a player became concerned, but it cannot show how often cheating occurred across the season. Establishing a rise would require comparable prevalence data, a defined measure and a clear comparison period; TRU Gamer did not provide those underlying details.
What is known about Epic’s reported figures
TRU Gamer attributed a decline in cheating rates to Epic’s internal data. The article did not link to that data, explain how Epic measured cheating, or cite a primary Epic statement about the result. It is therefore accurate to say that TRU Gamer reported an alleged decline, not that a decline has been independently established.

Why the season could have felt especially hectic
When the season launched, some players also objected to the condensed play area and described quick fights and frequent third-party attacks. GamesRadar’s November 3, 2025 coverage recorded those reactions. In a crowded match with fast encounters, a sudden elimination may feel suspicious, but that context neither proves an accusation wrong nor shows that map design caused the complaints.

What the season’s audience figures do—and don’t—show
Retrospective figures underline the season’s reach, not its cheating rate. In June 2026, Epic said more than 80 million players spent over 750 million hours in the Fortnite | Simpsons season the previous fall. Disney separately reported more than 80 million players and 780 million hours for the season. The companies’ published play-hour totals differ by 30 million; each figure should remain attributed to its publisher rather than combined or treated as a measure of cheating.
