Fortnite’s 2024 Star Wars collaboration launched May 3 alongside update v29.40, bringing Star Wars content to LEGO Fortnite, Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. It was a cross-mode event—not a full Star Wars Battle Royale season.
When did Star Wars come to Fortnite in 2024?
Epic announced that Star Wars would arrive on May 3, 2024, alongside Fortnite update v29.40. The timing was just ahead of Star Wars Day on May 4. Epic’s v29.40 announcement and its May 1 event announcement describe the launch.
What was in the Fortnite Star Wars event in 2024?
The collaboration covered four Fortnite modes, with different kinds of content in each.
| Mode | Announced content |
|---|---|
| LEGO Fortnite | Star Wars Island, Rebel Village progression, Imperial camps, tools, weapons, and the LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure. |
| Battle Royale | Chewbacca, his Wookiee Bowcaster, Star Wars shop content, and activities. |
| Fortnite Festival | Star Wars-themed music and instruments, including the Cantina Band Jam Track, Endorian Drum Kit, and Nalargon Keytar. |
| Rocket Racing | Star Wars-themed cosmetics and quests. |
What did LEGO Fortnite add?
LEGO Fortnite received the most detailed world-building update. The Rebels and Galactic Empire entered players’ worlds, and a new Star Wars Island remained available after v29.40. Players could help build a Rebel Village and progress it up to level 10, investigate Imperial camps, and use or craft equipment such as Macrobinoculars. Epic also named Lightsabers, DL-44 Blasters, and Thermal Detonators among the Star Wars gear. Details are in Epic’s LEGO Fortnite v29.40 announcement.

Epic also said pass rewards were not exclusive and might later appear in the Fortnite Shop; that historical statement does not establish whether any reward is currently available. The event announcement has the pass details.
What came to Battle Royale, Festival, and Rocket Racing?
Battle Royale
The 2024 announcement featured Chewbacca and his Wookiee Bowcaster, along with Star Wars shop content and activities. These were part of the event’s announced lineup; they are not a promise that any particular outfit or item can still be purchased.

Was Fortnite’s Star Wars event in 2024 a full Battle Royale season?
No. The May 2024 collaboration added content across four Fortnite modes; it was not the dedicated Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season. Epic announced that separate season, GALACTIC BATTLE, for May 2 through June 7, 2025. The different year and event name matter when looking up season details or item availability.

The cited announcements document the event’s historical lineup, not what is in the live Fortnite Shop now. The Rebel Adventure progression window ended on July 23, 2024, and Epic’s statement that rewards might later appear in the Shop did not confirm a return date or current stock. Shop availability can change, so check the in-game Shop for current listings.
