Fortnite v42.40 is expected on October 15, 2026, according to Fortnite News, but Epic had not announced an official downtime window or published the full patch notes as of October 13. Early coverage points to two new Sprites—Honey and Obsession—while the October Fortnitemares lineup includes Obsession and Hazbin Hotel without confirming either collaboration for that specific update date.
When does Fortnite v42.40 release?
Fortnite News reported October 15, 2026 as the expected release date for v42.40 in its October 10 preview. That is an outlet-reported date, not an official Epic downtime confirmation: Epic’s Fortnitemares announcement does not give a v42.40 date, and Fortnite News noted that no downtime announcement had been made when it published its preview.
