These were the headline changes in the content-update notes—not the same document as the broader v10.10 Patch Notes, which covered the Retail Row Rift Zone and other changes.
What did the Junk Rift do?
Epic described the Junk Rift as “A throwable item that breaks on contact and spawns a large object in the sky that plummets to the ground.” The falling object damaged players and destroyed everything in its path. When it landed, it created a small shockwave that also damaged players and destroyed objects within its radius.

Rarity, stack size, and sources
- Rarity: Epic.
- Stack size: Dropped in stacks of two; maximum stack size was four.
- Where it appeared: Floor Loot, Chests, Supply Drops, and Llamas.
What changed at the Rec Center?
Epic’s notes say the Rec Center Rift Beacon malfunctioned, causing an explosion that left a giant crater and created Glitched Consumables. Those consumables could only be found at the crater.

Glitched Consumables switched among forageables from earlier in Fortnite. Each type had its own effect:

How were the content update notes different from the v10.10 patch notes?
Epic published separate documents for the content update and the wider v10.10 patch. The content-update page documents the Junk Rift and the Rec Center crater and also includes Creative and Save the World details. The broader v10.10 Patch Notes cover the Retail Row Rift Zone replacing Mega Mall, along with other changes. Keeping the pages distinct avoids treating Retail Row as part of the two Battle Royale headline changes covered here.

Do these notes confirm the items are available now?
No. The v10.10 content-update notes establish what Epic documented for that update; they do not establish whether the Junk Rift or Glitched Consumables are available in Fortnite today. This is a historical account of the update, not a current item-availability guide.
