What was included in the Fortnite and Squid Game crossover?
The collaboration had distinct parts rather than one single game mode. Netflix’s June 2025 announcement described Fortnite-themed cosmetics and a Reload map tied to the launch of Squid Game Season 3. Epic Games separately announced Squid Game creator content for Fortnite Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Netflix’s announcement and Epic’s announcement do not provide a complete cosmetics list or confirm that the cosmetics or map remain available now.
- For players: the announced tie-in included cosmetics and a Squid Game-themed Reload map.
- For creators: licensed tools and assets enabled Squid Game-inspired islands in Creative and UEFN.
Epic summed up the launch with the line, “Squid Game is now in Fortnite!”

Can you play a Squid Game mode in Fortnite now?
The official announcements establish that a Reload map was part of the June 2025 tie-in and that creators could publish Squid Game islands from August 14. They do not establish that a standalone, fixed Squid Game mode remains available in October 2026, or that any specific island is currently featured in Discover. Check Fortnite’s current in-game Discover listings for islands and the Item Shop for cosmetics; availability and rotations are not established by the launch announcements.
How could creators make Squid Game islands?
Epic provided a Squid Game Starter Island and UEFN templates for minigames and social deduction. The licensed assets and tools included props, galleries, NPCs and voiceovers, along with interactive features inspired by the series. Examples included carryable spawners, Ddakji- and Flying Stone-inspired throwables, and disguise functionality. Epic noted that some devices could be used on any Fortnite island, while its official device documentation identifies certain templates as UEFN-only.

In practical terms, the starter island and templates were building resources, not proof of a single official mode that would remain permanently available. Players could explore creator-published islands, while creators could use the licensed assets subject to Epic’s program and brand terms.
What rules applied to publishing Squid Game islands?
Publishing required membership in the applicable Fortnite creator program and acceptance of additional licensing terms. Epic’s rules say the creator shares 15% of the island’s engagement payout with Netflix. That figure is a licensing term, not a player-behavior statistic. Review the current Epic announcement and Squid Game brand rules before publishing, since program and licensing requirements may change.

Does the crossover include physical merchandise?
Separately from Fortnite’s digital content, Netflix named the Squid Game MEGA Staircase Building Set among officially licensed collectibles. The announcement also listed merchandise categories such as tracksuits, T-shirts, throw blankets, lifestyle accessories and costumes. It does not establish current prices, stock or availability through Amazon or any other retailer.
