Fortnite’s Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season, GALACTIC BATTLE, ran from May 2 to June 7, 2025. Players could pilot X-wings and TIE fighters, while training with hologram Emperor Palpatine unlocked Force Lightning. The season has ended; these features describe its 2025 run, not a current Battle Pass offer.
What was Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE?
Epic Games billed GALACTIC BATTLE as Fortnite’s first entirely Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season. It began May 2, 2025, and its Battle Pass progression period ended June 7, 2025, Eastern Time. Epic’s announcement described a season that brought new Star Wars content and gameplay into Fortnite week by week, concluding with the Death Star Sabotage finale. Epic Games’ season announcement and Fortnite’s season guide give the dates and feature details.
How did the X-wings and Force abilities work?
Pilot an X-wing or TIE fighter
Players could take the controls of an X-wing, fire its laser cannons, and use it to travel quickly. TIE fighters were also available. These were in-game starfighters, not a separate purchase or physical product.
Learn Force Lightning from Palpatine
Training with hologram Emperor Palpatine taught players Force Lightning, an ability used to deal damage, and awarded a red lightsaber. Force abilities required a lightsaber to be equipped, but the abilities belonged to the player rather than being powers of the lightsaber itself.

Could players still buy the GALACTIC BATTLE Battle Pass?
No. Fortnite’s guide listed free and premium rewards and priced the premium Battle Pass at 1,000 V-Bucks, but its progression window ended June 7, 2025, Eastern Time. That price describes the pass during that season; it is not a current offer or an indication that the pass can still be purchased.

Is this the same as Fortnite’s 2026 Star Wars islands?
No. GALACTIC BATTLE was the 2025 Battle Royale season. A separate Fortnite Star Wars island initiative was announced in 2026, with content starting May 1, 2026; its announcement described hundreds of islands, including a T-65B X-wing experience. That later island initiative is distinct from the Battle Royale season and its timed Battle Pass. Fortnite’s 2026 announcement covers the separate initiative.
