Players reported that Fortnite’s Adventure Time emote Cake’s Narrative Flapjacks made some character skins appear to bounce briefly through the upper torso. That appearance is what players called “jiggle physics”; available sources do not confirm that it was actual physics, an intended feature, or a bug acknowledged by Epic.
What players reported
A Reddit post published January 16, 2026, said the new “Cake’s narrative flapjacks” emote appeared to give any skin “jiggle physics.” The discussion included conflicting interpretations: some users described a visible bounce, while another suggested it looked like an animation or transform issue rather than physics. These are player observations and speculation, not an official diagnosis. Reddit discussion
A Portuguese-language article published the same day also covered the reports and repeated a proposed explanation involving doubled torso-bone movement. It said TheGamer tested the issue, but the article does not link to that test. The bone explanation therefore remains unverified, rather than an established account of how the animation worked. What Epic’s listing confirms
Epic’s item listing identifies Cake’s Narrative Flapjacks as an emote in the Adventure Time set, introduced in Chapter 7, Season 1, with a listed price of 300 V-Bucks. Its description reads: “Let’s griddle up portraits of the entire kingdom.” The listing verifies the cosmetic’s details; it does not confirm the reported visual effect or explain its cause. Was it really “jiggle physics”?
That phrase is a shorthand for what some players thought they saw, not a verified technical description. The sources available do not establish that Fortnite’s physics system was involved, that Epic deliberately restored such an effect, or that a particular animation bone moved twice. Without an official explanation or technical evidence, it is more accurate to say that players reported an apparent upper-torso bounce while the emote played.
A community-maintained wiki says the apparent squash-and-stretch effect occurred before update v39.40. That offers secondary corroboration that players noticed a visual change, but it does not establish Epic’s diagnosis or confirm what changed in the update. Fortnite Wiki entry
