Forza Horizon 4 was delisted from the Microsoft Store and Steam on December 15, 2024, because of licensing and agreements with partners. Its downloadable content began leaving digital stores on June 25, 2024, and the game also left Xbox Game Pass on December 15. If you already own it, Playground Games said you could continue downloading and playing it, including online and multiplayer features; that statement is not a guarantee that online services will remain available indefinitely.
Why was Forza Horizon 4 delisted?
Playground Games cited licensing and agreements with its partners. In its June 25, 2024 announcement, the studio said the game would be removed from digital platforms, specifically the Microsoft Store and Steam. The announcement did not identify individual licenses or partners as the reason.

When did the game and its DLC leave stores?
| Date | What changed |
|---|---|
| June 25, 2024 | DLC began to be delisted from digital platforms. The Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions of the full game remained available for purchase until the full-game delisting, according to Playground Games. |
| August 22, 2024 | Series 77, the final Festival Playlist, ended. |
| December 15, 2024 | The full game was delisted from the Microsoft Store and Steam and left Xbox Game Pass. |
| June 25, 2026 | Unused game tokens began expiring, according to Playground Games. |
These dates come from Playground Games’ announcement, updated July 15, 2024. Delisting means the game or content is no longer offered for a new digital purchase through the named stores; it does not, by itself, remove a copy from an existing owner’s library.
Can you still play Forza Horizon 4 after delisting?
Playground Games said players who already owned the game and its content could download and play them as normal, including offline, online, and multiplayer features. That is the publisher’s statement at the time of the announcement, not a promise of perpetual online service. The announcement does not establish how long online features will remain available.

If you already own it digitally
Check the account and platform used to obtain the game, then look for it in your library or owned games. Delisting stopped new digital purchases through the Microsoft Store and Steam; it did not mean existing owners had to buy the game again.
If you have a physical copy
Playground Games said physical copies purchased after the delisting date would work and could use online features. Before buying a used disc, verify that it matches your console: the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S version, region, condition, and included content should all match what you want. Store availability, seller reliability, and current prices vary, and the announcement does not establish them.

What happened to Forza Horizon 4 DLC?
DLC started leaving digital platforms on June 25, 2024, ahead of the base game’s December 15 delisting. If you had already purchased DLC, Playground Games said owned game content remained downloadable and playable. The announcement does not make delisted DLC available for new purchase now, so do not assume a particular add-on can still be bought digitally.
Did Forza Horizon 4 leave Xbox Game Pass?
Yes. Playground Games said the game left Xbox Game Pass on December 15, 2024. A subscription should not be treated as a current way to obtain access. Your ability to play depends on whether you own the game and on the account and platform associated with that ownership.

What changed with the Festival Playlist?
Series 77 was the last Festival Playlist and ended on August 22, 2024. Afterward, access to the Playlist screen ended apart from its history. Playground Games said seasonal changes, selected daily and weekly challenges, Forzathon Live events, and Backstage Pass exchanges would continue.

For console play, the current Xbox product listing says online multiplayer requires Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate, sold separately. This is a current listing detail and can change; it is separate from the game’s delisting and does not mean Game Pass currently includes Forza Horizon 4.
