Forza Horizon 6 is confirmed for PlayStation 5 later in 2026, but Playground Games has not announced an exact PS5 release date in its official updates reviewed through September 7, 2026. The May 19, 2026 date applies to Xbox Series X|S and PC—not PS5.
When is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5?
Playground Games’ January 22, 2026 announcement confirmed that the PS5 version would arrive later that year and said players could add it to their PlayStation Store wishlist for availability notifications. In an update dated September 7, 2026, the studio still described the release as “later this year”; neither update gave a specific day. Playground Games’ announcement and its September update are the official timing references.
That means there is no confirmed PS5 date to put on a calendar yet. The clearest official next step for interested players is to wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store, where it can be followed for availability updates.
Why May 19 is not the PS5 release date
The May date often mentioned alongside Forza Horizon 6 is for its initial Xbox and PC launch. Playground Games’ release-date announcement and official FAQ distinguish those platform dates from the later PS5 window.

What is confirmed about the PS5 version?
Setting and platforms
Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan. Playground Games announced the setting and a post-launch PS5 version on September 25, 2025; its January 2026 announcement subsequently gave the PS5 timing as later that year. The official game page lists more than 550 real-world cars, a figure supplied by the developer rather than an independently verified count.
Cross-play and cross-save
The official feature information lists cross-play and cross-save across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PS5, and Steam. It also describes Xbox Play Anywhere for eligible Microsoft Store purchases on Xbox and Windows PC; that purchase entitlement does not extend to PS5. Check the official feature page for the platform details.

The official materials reviewed establish the PS5 release window, but do not establish a PS5 price, pre-order date, boxed or disc edition, or participating retailer. Xbox and PC edition information should not be treated as confirmation of equivalent PS5 offers. Wait for a PlayStation Store listing or an official Playground Games announcement before relying on those details.
