Thea Booysen’s route into esports casting began with streaming and playing Gwent: she moved from competing in community tournaments to casting them, then was hired by CD Projekt Red to cast Gwent esports. Her later work has extended beyond Gwent, but the available reporting does not establish a complete or current list of her broadcast credits.
How streaming and Gwent led to casting
In a May 2024 interview with MyBroadband, Booysen said she began streaming on Twitch in 2016 while playing The Witcher 3. Gwent, the card game associated with that series, became the turning point in her career.
Booysen described a progression from learning the game and becoming good at it to casting community tournaments. CD Projekt Red (CDPR) then hired her to cast Gwent esports. In her words: “I got really good at the game and started casting community tournaments, and before I knew it, CDPR hired me to become an e-sports caster for Gwent.” That account comes from her 2024 retrospective interview; it is not a separately dated hiring announcement.
The path matters because it shows how her expertise at the game and community-level casting connected. Rather than beginning with a broad broadcast résumé, she built from familiarity with a specific competitive card game into opportunities to commentate its tournaments.

What her later card-game work shows
By the time of the 2024 interview, Booysen said she had continued playing card games after Gwent and had been involved at the forefront of competitive card-game scenes. She also said Parallel had made her an ambassador and that she was casting its game. These are statements about her activities at the time of that interview, not confirmation of her present role or a complete record of subsequent broadcasts.
The interview also points to an appearance on the official Gwent YouTube channel, but it does not provide a current official caster roster. The reported history supports a move from Gwent into other card-game work; it does not establish which games or events she casts today.

Her reported involvement in South African esports
Booysen’s career has also been linked to the South African esports organization Nixuh.GG. A STRAFE report, first published in December 2023 and updated in April 2025, describes her as a co-owner. A later Esports Africa News report, published in September 2026, also calls her a co-owner and attributes a co-ownership announcement to her.
Those reports support describing her as a reported co-owner, while keeping the attribution clear: the ownership information comes from secondary esports coverage. The 2026 page contains inconsistent age and timeline details, so its chronology should not be treated as settled.

Beyond the broadcast booth
Booysen is also the author of the young-adult novel The Marked Children. MyBroadband’s 2024 interview identified it as self-published and reported ratings of 4.3 out of 5 on Goodreads and 4.7 out of 5 on Amazon.com at that time. Those are dated snapshots, not current ratings.
The same interview described her as holding a law degree and psychology honours, and as working toward a master’s degree in neuroscience. That describes her studies as reported in 2024; it does not establish her current academic status. Together, the book and education details show that her public work extends beyond esports, without changing the documented shape of her casting career: streaming, Gwent, community tournaments, and a CDPR casting opportunity.

What can—and cannot—be said about her current credits
The published accounts establish a historical Gwent casting role and report later involvement with Parallel. They also describe her as connected to Nixuh.GG. They do not provide an up-to-date, first-party roster or dated list of broadcasts through October 2026, so it would be misleading to present a definitive list of games she currently casts or claim that she remains on a particular game’s official roster.
