Forza Motorsport Update 12 added Spectate Mode for Private Multiplayer, a Challenge Hub with reward objectives, expanded collision data capture for Forza Race Regulations, and configurable race weather. Turn 10 announced the update on September 9, 2024; the associated tours and car rewards had deadlines in 2024, so the announcement does not establish that they are available now.
What Update 12 added
Turn 10 Studios announced Update 12 on September 9, 2024. Its main changes covered multiplayer race viewing, reward objectives, penalty-system data capture, and weather setup. The official Update 12 Release Notes detail the gameplay changes, while the feature announcement describes the accompanying cars, tours, and event dates.

How Private Multiplayer Spectate Mode worked
Spectate Mode let players follow live races in Private Multiplayer without taking a place as a driver. Viewers could customize the HUD, use a dynamic driver list and ticker, and open a telemetry panel. Rail Cam and Point of Interest cameras provided different ways to follow the action. After the race, spectators could save a replay, subject to the game’s existing replay-length limits.
Turn 10 presented the feature as useful for league administrators and broadcasters. In its September 9, 2024 announcement, the studio said: “With Forza Motorsport Update 12, we have enabled Spectate mode in Private Multiplayer, making it much easier for league admins to view and broadcast their official events.” This was specifically Private Multiplayer spectating; a September 9 discussion on the official Forza Community Forums asked whether it should also come to Featured Multiplayer.

Challenge Hub and reward-car routes
The Challenge Hub presented objectives and rewards. For reward cars, the announcement described two ways to progress: complete the relevant Career Featured Tour or race in Featured Multiplayer. Turn 10 did not compare the routes’ time, difficulty, or value, so the practical choice was which mode a player preferred.
Tour rewards announced for 2024
Update 12 spotlighted the 2023 McLaren Artura and 2022 Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder, both described as new to Motorsport at the time. The Mid-Engine Tour offered the Artura as a reward, with an October 30, 2024 deadline. Separately, completing all six Open Class Tour series—three races each, spanning D through R class—before October 16, 2024 was stated to earn the Huracán EVO Spyder.

Forza Race Regulations captured more collision data
Turn 10 said the collision incident capture system gathered additional metrics to assess fault and severity, describing the change as a 300% increase in captured information. That figure is the studio’s claim about the amount of incident information collected; it is not an independent measurement of penalty accuracy and does not guarantee different or better outcomes for players. Turn 10 later provided further implementation context in its Update 13 Release Notes, published October 14, 2024.

Configurable weather in Free Play and Private Multiplayer
Update 12 exposed weather types and probability percentages for three race points: Start, Mid-Race, and End Race. The controls were available in the advanced setup for Free Play and Private Multiplayer when Variable Dry or Variable Wet was selected. This let hosts configure how weather could vary during a race rather than relying only on a single fixed condition.
