What gameplay and technical changes did Update 7 make?
Turn 10 described the following changes in its April 2024 update announcement. The improvements and figures are publisher-reported, not independent performance measurements.
- Multiplayer proximity arrows: Arrows were enabled by default. Their direction reflected the other car’s world position relative to the player and camera.
- PC audio controls: Players gained sample-rate and buffer-size controls intended to reduce CPU use.
- Livery editor: The “Size” decal tools were replaced by “Scale” and “Stretch.”
- Shared Tunes: A fix addressed search results.
- Design & Paint on PC: A loading-screen issue when opening the feature for a car the player had not purchased was fixed.
- Le Mans textures: Texture work covered Le Mans Full Circuit and Old Mulsanne Circuit.
Turn 10 also reported that Update 7 reduced the game’s installed footprint by around 15–20%, with the Xbox Series X|S installation 25 GB smaller and the PC installation 29 GB smaller. The announced update download was 15 GB. These are the publisher’s April 2024 figures, not current install-size guarantees; actual sizes may vary by platform and later updates. The announcement presents its improvements as a snapshot and points to separate release notes for a fuller list.
