Forza Motorsport Update 14 brought NASCAR-themed racing to the game in November 2024, adding three 2024 Next Gen NASCAR cars, oval-focused gameplay adjustments, and a limited-time American Thunder event program. It was a themed update—not a standalone NASCAR expansion—and its original event calendar and Spotlight discounts have ended.
What Update 14 added to Forza Motorsport
Turn 10 Studios’ November 4, 2024 release notes describe Update 14 as the American Thunder update. Its NASCAR content combined new cars with events and changes intended to support oval racing.

Three 2024 NASCAR Next Gen cars

- 2024 Ford NASCAR Next Gen Mustang Dark Horse

These cars were presented through the update’s Spotlight and event activities. Turn 10’s Update 14 release notes list all three vehicles.
American Thunder Tour and oval racing
The American Thunder Tour showcased the new cars in events associated with Homestead-Miami, Indianapolis, Eaglerock Speedway, and Sunset Peninsula. The update also adjusted oval Drivatar tuning and car-to-car collision response. These were gameplay changes to support the themed racing, not the addition of a separate NASCAR game mode or expansion.

Homestead-Miami’s layouts received NASCAR branding. Update 14 refreshed the presentation of an existing track; it did not add Homestead-Miami itself. NASCAR’s November 7, 2024 report on the update also mentioned Daytona International Speedway and Watkins Glen International in connection with a Championship Weekend activation. That mention does not mean either track was newly added by Update 14.
Rolling starts in Featured Multiplayer
Rolling starts were enabled for all events in the NASCAR Series within Featured Multiplayer. Turn 10 said rolling starts would be added to other appropriate events beginning with Update 15; that was a planned follow-on change, not an Update 14 feature for every race.

How and when players could access the NASCAR activities
Turn 10 announced that Update 14 began rolling out on November 4, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S and PC through Microsoft Store and Steam. The Spotlight cars and in-game events started November 6 at 4 p.m. Pacific time (November 7 at 00:00 UTC), according to the official update overview.
The original activities were time-limited. The three cars’ listed Spotlight discount period ran from November 6/7 through November 13/14, 2024, depending on time zone. The American Thunder Featured Multiplayer calendar ran for five weeks, with its final scheduled week ending December 11/12, 2024. Those dates are historical; they do not indicate that a discount or event is currently active.

Turn 10 said the NASCAR Series would return in future Featured Multiplayer rotations, but its overview did not give a current schedule. Whether it is available now depends on the live in-game rotation; the reviewed announcements do not establish present availability.
Other changes in the Update 14 release notes
Advanced Ghosting and race regulations
Update 14 introduced Advanced Ghosting for certain situations, including predicted high-relative-velocity collisions, unsafe re-entry onto the track, cars stopped or moving slowly while blocking traffic, and wrong-way driving. Turn 10 said the system was intended to guard against egregious collisions and griefing while preserving contact that can occur when racers fight for position.

The release notes also describe a new Forza Race Regulations model, with a slight reduction in false-positive penalties and improved assignment of penalty severity.
Audio, performance, and fixes
The update enhanced audio for the 2010 Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SV, 2019 Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, and 2013 McLaren P1. Other release-note items included fixes involving reflections, curb-induced spins, performance, tuning resets, AI tire grip, and AI pitting. These improvements were part of the broader game update rather than NASCAR-specific additions.

Is NASCAR still available in Forza Motorsport?
Forza Motorsport has NASCAR cars and the update established a NASCAR Series in Featured Multiplayer, but the original American Thunder events, Spotlight window, and scheduled five-week calendar were limited-time activities in late 2024. Turn 10 said the Featured Multiplayer series would return in future rotations; the official overview does not specify when. Check the game’s current Featured Multiplayer schedule for availability rather than assuming the 2024 calendar is still live.
