Forza Motorsport Update 20 launched on May 5, 2025 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam. It brought back Fujimi Kaido, added Public Meetups, and introduced a 20th Anniversary Tour with seven series themed around earlier games. Its anniversary events were scheduled for 2025, so their historical dates should not be read as confirmation that they are available now.
When did Forza Motorsport Update 20 come out?
Turn 10 Studios began rolling out Update 20 on Monday, May 5, 2025. Spotlight cars and new in-game events were scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 7 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time—12:00 a.m. UTC on Thursday, May 8. The release covered Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Microsoft Store and Steam. Turn 10’s May 5 announcement has the rollout details.

The official 20th Anniversary Tour page gives the tour period as May 8 through December 31, 2025. That is a past event window; the available information does not establish whether any related limited-time activities have since returned. The tour page lists the dates.
What was new in Update 20?
Fujimi Kaido returned
The update brought back Fujimi Kaido, a Japanese mountain road long associated with drifting. Xbox Wire describes the route as 16.5 kilometers (10.24 miles) long, with 144 turns. Turn 10 called it “a legendary destination for drift enthusiasts and motorsport lovers alike!” in its May 5, 2025 release announcement. The route figures come from Xbox Wire.

Public Meetups added shared track sessions
Update 20 introduced Public Meetups, including Open Track Day and Drift Meetups. Players could vote on the next track. Turn 10 also listed a 24/7 Fujimi Kaido Drift Meetup and a Nürburgring Nordschleife Track Day Meetup. These were features and events announced for the update; their current rotation is not established by the announcement. See Turn 10’s feature description.
The Anniversary Tour revisited seven games
The 20th Anniversary Tour’s seven showcase series spanned the original Forza Motorsport through Forza Motorsport 7. Completing all seven offered the 2022 Acura NSX Type S through the Challenge Hub. The tour page also described another route to the car: completing 20 races in the 20th Anniversary Featured Multiplayer Series. Both are historical event requirements, not a guarantee that the reward can still be claimed. Turn 10’s tour page outlines the series and reward.

Seven earlier cover cars returned with updated audio
Previous cover cars featured in the Spirit of Motorsport Tour, Anniversary Multiplayer Series, and Spotlight Rivals. Turn 10 said their audio was updated. The cars were:
- 2005 Honda NSX-R
- 2003 Nissan Fairlady Z
- 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro
- 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia
- 2013 McLaren P1
- 2017 Ford GT
- 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

The anniversary brought music from earlier games
The tour page says music from Forza Motorsport 3, 4, 5, and 6 was added. It also lists three new music sequences commissioned from Lance Hayes, composer for Forza Motorsport 3–5. Turn 10’s tour page describes the soundtrack additions; Xbox Wire also covers the anniversary playlist.
What changed for multiplayer, usability, and AI?

- Car Proximity Radar: enabled by default in Featured Multiplayer, with settings to reposition or disable it.
- Fuel defaults: adjusted to better align with race lap counts.
- Drift event exploit: a rewind exploit was fixed. The Welcome to Drift 101, 102, and 103 Rivals leaderboards were wiped as a result.
- Lobby sizes: Turn 10 said it deployed fixes intended to improve lobby sizes following the Update 18 multiplayer services change.
- Drivatar behavior: collision avoidance and side-by-side racing were specifically called out for improvement, especially at race starts.
- Racing-wheel features: Turn 10 mentioned improvements, but the announcement does not enumerate the individual changes.

The tour’s listed dates ended on December 31, 2025. Because the event page records a historical period and does not establish the current rotation, it is not possible to confirm from that information alone whether the featured multiplayer events or reward routes are playable now. The update’s release details and the tour’s scheduled window are separate: the former identifies when Update 20 began rolling out, while the latter describes when the anniversary tour was scheduled.
