Forza Motorsport Update 15 began rolling out on December 9, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Microsoft Store and Steam. It added a four-week Australia-themed event period, optional PC-only ray-traced global illumination (RTGI), multiplayer upgrade tools and changes to Safety Rating and race regulations. The Australia events were announced to start December 11, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. PT (December 12 at 00:00 UTC), so those dates and events are historical rather than a claim of current availability.
What Update 15 added
Turn 10 Studios announced Update 15 on December 9, 2024. Its major additions covered Australian-themed Career and Featured Multiplayer events, PC lighting options, and adjustments to multiplayer and race rules. The update was the studio’s final content update of 2024, according to that announcement; its preview of Update 16 for January 2025 was a plan stated at the time, not an indication of the game’s current update status.

Australia Tour and Forza AUS Series
The announced four-week Australia Month paired two distinct activities: an Australia Tour in Career and the Forza AUS Series in Featured Multiplayer. Both brought Australian cars and Mount Panorama into focus, including sport utes and V8-powered supercars. Turn 10 described Bathurst—Mount Panorama’s circuit—as exclusive to Forza AUS during Australia Month. The publisher gave the circuit’s length as 3.8 miles (6.2 km) and its elevation change as 570 feet (174 meters).
The event period was temporary. The announcement does not establish that Australia Month, its events or any associated unlocks remain available now; check the current game for what is playable.

Optional, PC-only RTGI
Update 15 added Ray-Traced Global Illumination to the PC versions of Forza Motorsport. Turn 10 said the feature uses ray-tracing hardware to calculate indirect lighting and occlusion across cars and tracks in real time. It applies in gameplay, cinematics, Homespace and Photo Mode, and is off by default. Xbox Series X|S did not receive this RTGI setting.
To enable it on PC, open the game’s graphics settings and select Raytracing Quality: Full Reflections + RTGI, then set RTGI Quality: High. Turn 10 described RTGI as intended for high-end PCs, but did not publish a minimum GPU model or a quantified performance cost. The visual feature may involve a performance trade-off; the announcement gives no measured frame-rate figures, and PC transition behavior can vary by system.

Multiplayer and Safety Rating changes
Upgrades during eligible events
Eligible Featured Multiplayer series gained access to Custom Upgrade and Quick Upgrade within events. Turn 10 named Open Class, Cycled Class and Multi-Class series among those affected. This lets players adjust a car’s build for an eligible event without leaving the event flow.
More races inform Safety Rating
Turn 10 increased the number of races used in the Safety Rating calculation from 20 to 50. The stated aim was to reduce severe rating swings and better represent a player’s broader race history. This is a change to the calculation’s input window, not a promise that an individual rating will rise or fall by a particular amount.

Race rules, presentation and other fixes
- Forza Race Regulations: The model was revised to reduce some false-positive penalties, account for tire wear when calculating time gained from off-track driving, and address a disqualification issue that could occur before the start/finish line.
- Spectate and Replay: Transitions use quick fades in many situations. Loading screens remain when moving between streaming zones.
- Open Series and starts: Selected Open Series additions covered the Nordschleife and Nürburgring Full Circuit, and Rolling Starts were expanded.
- AI and Drivatars: The update included fixes related to variable-weather AI and Drivatar braking.
- Car audio: Audio was enhanced for the 1991 BMW M3, 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, 2013 Ferrari La Ferrari, 2015 Ferrari F12 TDF, 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast and 2015 McLaren P1 GTR.
