The French Resistance gnome is in Mission 4, “Collision Course,” on the central train tracks near the lower bridge. Approach from the right side of the map, get past the tank blocking the tracks, then use Photo Mode with the gnome in frame to unlock the Lost Its Way Gnome Trophy. This is a separate easter egg from Mission 7’s ten-gnome medal challenge.
How to reach the gnome in Mission 4
- Load Mission 4, “Collision Course.” The gnome is on this mission’s train tracks, not in Mission 7.
- Approach the lower bridge from the right side of the map. The tank beside the tracks faces left and blocks the route; the described approach is from the right. Near the yellow-marked objective to eliminate intel sources, look in the houses above the train line for stairs leading down to the tracks.
- Clear the tank from the tracks. Search a bunker for a Satchel Charge, place it on the back of the tank, and detonate it. The Push Square guide says to shoot the hole created by the blast to finish destroying the tank.
- Search the middle of the tracks. Walk along the cleared tracks and inspect the central section. The location is also described as a lower hole in the bridge railing.
- Take the picture in Photo Mode. Keep the gnome visible in the image when you open Photo Mode; the Lost Its Way Gnome Trophy unlocks when it is in frame.

Mission 4 easter egg or Mission 7 medal?
These are two different gnome objectives. The photographed French Resistance gnome is a single Mission 4 easter egg and unlocks the Lost Its Way Gnome Trophy. Mission 7, “Lock, Stock and Barrels,” contains ten gnomes associated with the “Oh Gnome You Don’t” medal; finding the Mission 4 gnome does not count toward that medal.
According to MapMaster’s guide, the Mission 7 medal awards bronze, silver, and gold for shooting one, five, and ten gnomes, respectively. Those ten can be shot in any order and revisited through Mission Select.
