“ The program can’t start because fs_facebookupload.dll is missing from your computer.” You may also see “fs_facebookupload.dll was not found,” “Cannot find fs_facebookupload.dll,” or “Error loading fs_facebookupload.dll.”
This is not normally a Windows component. It is an application DLL associated with older video-editing software, especially Wondershare Video Editor and Aimersoft Video Editor. The safest repair is to restore the exact video editor that installed it, not to download a loose DLL and place it in System32.
Which fix applies to you
Use the first description that matches your situation:
- The error names Wondershare Video Editor or Aimersoft Video Editor: repair or reinstall that same application.
- The file disappeared after antivirus activity: inspect Windows Security Protection history before restoring anything.
- The editor was recently updated, removed, or reinstalled: perform a clean reinstall and do not mix files from different products.
- The old editor was already removed: remove its stale startup entry, shortcut, or scheduled task instead of replacing the DLL.
- The message says “specified module could not be found”: the named DLL may exist while one of its dependencies is missing.
- The message names
MSVCP,VCRUNTIME, DirectX, or a codec: repair that separately named dependency. - Windows itself is unstable or other Windows DLLs are failing: use DISM and SFC after addressing the application issue.
- You found the file in a random download directory: do not run or copy it until the source and parent application are verified.

The file is listed as FS_FacebookUpload Dynamic Link Library, alongside video-upload components such as FS_YouTubeUpload.dll. Its name suggests an old social-media upload feature, but the important repair fact is that it belongs to the editor’s installation rather than to Windows.
Reported public metadata identifies a 32-bit file and lists version, size, and hash values. Those details come from a third-party file index, not an authenticated vendor manifest, so they should not be used to validate a replacement download. A 32-bit DLL also cannot substitute for an application’s required compatible build simply because the filename matches.
Fix 1: Repair or reinstall the owning video editor
This is the most likely solution.
Identify the application
- Read the full error window and note the program named in its title bar.
- Right-click the shortcut that produces the error and select Properties.
- Check Target and Start in. Look for
Wondershare,Aimersoft, or a video-editor folder. - Open File Explorer and check the likely application directory:
C:Program FilesWondershareVideo EditorC:Program FilesAimersoftVideo Editor- Do not treat the folder alone as proof that the file is safe. Confirm that the application was intentionally installed and scan the system if anything looks unfamiliar.
Uninstall the damaged installation
- Press Windows + I.
- Select Apps, then Installed apps on Windows 11. On Windows 10, select Apps and then Apps & features.
- Search for Wondershare Video Editor or Aimersoft Video Editor.
- Select the three-dot menu, choose Uninstall, and complete the wizard.
- If it is not listed, open Control Panel.
- Select Programs, then Programs and Features.
- Select the editor and choose Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
If you still need the editor, reinstall it from the original vendor installer or a trustworthy vendor-provided archive for that exact legacy product. The current Wondershare product is Filmora, but a current Filmora installer should not be assumed to recreate this older DLL. If the old installer is unavailable from a trustworthy source, do not obtain the DLL separately.
After reinstalling:
- Restart Windows again.
- Launch the editor from its new shortcut.
- Confirm that the missing-DLL message is gone.
- Open a test project or create a small test project.
- Test ordinary editing before attempting an upload.
If a different missing-DLL message appears, stop replacing files at random. The new message identifies the next dependency to investigate.
Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software may quarantine an application DLL after an installation or update. Quarantine does not prove that the file is malicious, and its absence does not prove that it was safe.

- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review entries matching the time the editor stopped working.
- Expand the detection and read the file path, publisher information, and detection name.
- If the application was not intentionally installed, leave the file quarantined and run a scan.
- If the application is legitimate, the installer came from a trustworthy source, and the detection is judged to be a false positive, use the available Restore action.
- Do not use Allow on device merely because the filename matches the error. Microsoft describes that action for detections judged to be false positives.
- Reinstall the parent application if the restored file is immediately removed again.
- Run a Full scan from Virus & threat protection.
If you cannot establish where the file came from, do not restore it. Remove the questionable application and obtain a clean installation from the vendor instead.
Fix 3: Clean up a failed update or mixed installation
A rollback can leave an old launcher pointing at files from a different build. Mixing Wondershare and Aimersoft files is especially unsafe because matching filenames do not guarantee matching exports or dependencies.
- Uninstall the affected editor from Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Restart Windows.
- Check the old application folder in File Explorer.
- If it remains and contains only the removed application’s files, rename it temporarily, such as
Video Editor.old, rather than deleting project files. - Install one product from one verified installer.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the newly installed shortcut.
Do not copy fs_facebookupload.dll from another editor, another computer, or a different version. The correct fix is a consistent application installation.
Fix 4: Check for a stale startup entry
Sometimes the editor was removed but Windows still tries to launch an old helper at sign-in.
Check Startup apps
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Startup apps.
- Look for Wondershare, Aimersoft, Video Editor, or an unknown entry that points to the old installation.
- Right-click the entry and select Disable.
- Restart Windows.
Check the Startup folder
- Press Windows + R.
- Enter
shell:startupand press Enter. - Remove only the shortcut that clearly belongs to the uninstalled editor.
- Repeat with
shell:common startupif necessary.
If the error no longer appears and you no longer use the editor, the stale launcher was probably the cause. If the editor is still required, reinstall it rather than disabling the component it needs.

Fix 5: Repair a separately named runtime dependency
fs_facebookupload.dll is not established as a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime. If the error also names MSVCP, VCRUNTIME, or another Microsoft runtime file, install or repair the official Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable appropriate to the application. Older 32-bit applications commonly require the x86 package even on 64-bit Windows.
- Note the exact runtime filename in the error.
- Use Microsoft’s official Visual C++ Redistributable documentation to select the supported package.
- Install the x86 package for a 32-bit editor. Install x64 as well when other 64-bit applications require it.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch the video editor again.
If the message names DirectX, a codec, or another application component instead, repair the video editor first and troubleshoot that newly named dependency separately.

SFC and DISM repair protected Windows components and the Windows component store. They are not a reliable way to recreate a third-party DLL stored in a video editor’s program folder.
Use them when Windows has broader symptoms, such as damaged system components, repeated Windows repair failures, or errors involving Windows DLLs.
- Open Start and type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test the editor again.
A successful scan may report that no integrity violations were found or that damaged Windows files were repaired. If the same application DLL error remains, return to the video editor’s installer. SFC cannot be expected to supply a missing file from Wondershare or Aimersoft.

Running these commands repeatedly without knowing what changed is tedious and rarely repairs an application-owned DLL. regsvr32 is a registration utility for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. There is no verified evidence that fs_facebookupload.dll is a COM component that needs registration.
Do not begin with:
regsvr32 fs_facebookupload.dll
That command can produce another error and does not rebuild a missing application installation. It is appropriate only when the software vendor specifically instructs you to register a particular component.
Likewise, do not copy the file into:
C:WindowsSystem32C:WindowsSysWOW64- another application’s folder
Those locations are not a general DLL repair area. Copying a 32-bit file into a system directory can create loader conflicts and still leave the parent editor incomplete.
Fix 8: Check drivers only when the new error points there
A missing fs_facebookupload.dll is not normally a driver problem. Check drivers only if the editor launches but fails during capture, rendering, playback, or another operation and Windows identifies a graphics, audio, camera, or storage device.

- Expand the relevant category, such as Display adapters, Sound, video and game controllers, or Cameras.
- Right-click the affected device and choose Properties.
- Open the Driver tab and review the provider and status.
- Use Update Driver, or obtain the driver from the computer or device manufacturer.
- Restart Windows and test the editor.
Driver hunting can mean checking several hardware vendors and matching each package to the correct device. Before removing it:
- Back up project files and exported media.
- Check whether the project format can be opened elsewhere.
- Remove the obsolete application through Settings > Apps.
- Disable its startup shortcut or scheduled task if the error remains.
- Run a full Windows Security scan.
System Restore is a last resort for broader system changes. It is not a replacement for the correct application installer and may not restore a compatible copy of this DLL.
