Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 is already out. CyberConnect2’s published rollout ran from June 10 to June 18, 2025, with different dates for each platform. Some storefronts display earlier dates in May, so the schedule below distinguishes the publisher’s dates from store listings.

These are the rollout dates on the official Fuga 3 site. They are historical launch dates, not upcoming release windows.
Why do some stores show a different date?
Individual storefronts display dates that do not match CyberConnect2’s platform schedule. Steam lists May 28, 2025, while the US Nintendo eShop and Xbox Store list May 29, 2025. Those dates should be understood as the dates shown on those specific store listings, rather than substituted for the publisher’s rollout dates.

Store listings can use different date conventions or reflect storefront-specific information. The available dates establish that the listings differ, but do not explain the reason for the discrepancy.
What kind of game is Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3?
CyberConnect2 developed and published the third entry. According to the publisher’s store descriptions, Malt has disappeared, and the children discover the Taranis before setting out to infiltrate the Berman Empire. The game’s described systems include weakness combos, assist attacks, expanded Taranis upgrades, strategic route choices, and timeline-based secret events through the Akasha Panel. These are publisher descriptions of the game, not an independent evaluation.

Do you need to play the first two games?
Director Niizato describes Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 as the series finale, while saying it was made to be playable without the previous entries. Earlier games can provide context for the returning characters and story being brought to a close. In Niizato’s words: “While we took the greatest care to make sure that Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 could be enjoyed without having to play the previous games, it is the finale in the series, and we’re sure you will enjoy Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 even more if you know about the characters as they appeared in previous titles, or about the story that is coming to a conclusion in this latest chapter!”
