What is The Duskbloods?
FromSoftware describes The Duskbloods as a multiplayer action game built around online player-versus-player and player-versus-environment combat. In the developer’s 2 April 2025 announcement, it said up to eight players would vie against each other and challenging foes.

Players take the role of Bloodsworn, beings with superhuman abilities granted by special blood. They are drawn into the Twilight of Humanity to compete for First Blood, according to the game’s official description.
Is The Duskbloods exclusive to Switch 2?
Yes. Nintendo lists The Duskbloods as exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. Its US product listing also specifies TV, tabletop and handheld play modes. No other platform is listed in the official materials cited here.

How does the multiplayer work?
Online matches combine competition between players with combat against enemies. Nintendo lists online play for one to eight players; that is the supported online-player range, not a promise that every match will have eight participants. The game is therefore a multiplayer-focused PvPvE title, rather than a game presented as primarily single-player.
Characters, hub and match loop
Director Hidetaka Miyazaki said in Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice interview that the game has over a dozen selectable characters. Each has a distinct identity and appearance, and players can customize them to a degree. The described loop starts in a hub, where players choose and customize a character, continues into an online match, and returns to the hub for a reward whether they win or lose.

What is the setting?
The game does not take place in one fixed era or location. Miyazaki says its maps span different periods and places: some have Gothic or Victorian styling, while others depict the closing years of the early modern period. That range is part of the premise, not a single historical setting.
When does The Duskbloods come out?
FromSoftware and Nintendo list The Duskbloods for 2026, but neither cited official listing gives a specific release day. FromSoftware’s announcement notes that information is subject to change, so 2026 is the current stated year rather than a guaranteed launch date. Check Nintendo’s US listing or your regional Nintendo store for the latest availability details.

What does online play require?
Nintendo’s US listing says online features require a Nintendo Account, an internet connection and a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which is sold separately. Service terms and membership availability can differ by country, so consult the Nintendo listing for your region.
Was there a Duskbloods network test?
Nintendo Australia listed a Global Network Test for 21–24 August 2026, and the official game site published related notices dated 20–21 August 2026. Those notices establish the scheduled dates and the existence of announcements, but do not by themselves establish test results or participation numbers.
What has not been announced?
The official sources cited here do not establish an exact release date, price, pre-order availability, physical-edition status or full regional language support. They also do not provide commercial online-service terms beyond Nintendo’s current US listing.
