If you want more intricate puzzle boxes and atmospheric exploration, start with The House of Da Vinci. Its hands-on mechanical puzzles, hidden objects, and room-escape structure make it the closest alternative supported here, though its Renaissance setting gives it a distinct identity.
What makes a game feel like The Room 4: Old Sins?
The Room 4: Old Sins is the fourth game in Fireproof Games’ puzzle series. Its central feature is a multi-room dollhouse: you explore its rooms, uncover obscure clues, and manipulate intricate mechanisms while investigating the disappearance of an ambitious engineer and his wife. Fireproof describes the game on its official game page; Nintendo likewise presents the Switch edition as a fantastical dollhouse puzzle adventure in its store listing.
That mix points to what to look for in a similar game: close-up interaction with objects, mechanisms that reward careful inspection, spaces to explore, and a mystery that gives the puzzles a reason to matter. A similar game need not copy the dollhouse or its story to deliver the same satisfying, tactile puzzle-solving.
The closest match: The House of Da Vinci
The House of Da Vinci, by Blue Brain Games, is a strong first choice if the mechanical puzzle-solving is what you liked most. Its official materials describe a 3D, hands-on puzzle adventure with mechanical puzzles, hidden objects, and a mystery tied to the master’s disappearance. Steam also identifies it as a room-escape and mechanical-puzzle game. See the developer’s media page and the Steam listing.

The overlap is in the way you examine and manipulate objects, solve mechanisms, and move through escape-room-style puzzles. The difference is its Renaissance setting and its own historical mystery: it is a close match in puzzle feel, not a continuation of The Room’s world or story.
