What changed, and when?
The rebrand was specific to Gearbox Publishing San Francisco: it became Arc Games, rather than indicating that all of Gearbox changed its name. Neowin reported the change on April 8, 2024, and identified Gigantic: Rampage Edition as the first release planned under the new name, due the following day. Neowin’s April 8 report

Arc Games had announced the game on February 20, 2024, naming Abstraction Games as developer and setting an April 9 release date. What is Gigantic: Rampage Edition?
Arc Games described it as a premium, definitive version of Motiga’s team-based hero shooter. Players compete in 5v5 matches, choosing heroes with loadouts and progression. The publisher presented it as a paid release, announced at a US launch price of $19.99, with no microtransactions. That figure is historical launch pricing, not a current price guarantee for every region.

Cross-platform play was part of the launch promotion. Arc Games’ April 9 announcement described play between consoles and PC, saying: “CROSS PLATFORM PLAY BETWEEN CONSOLES AND PC: Team up and jump into epic matches with friends across multiple platforms.” The publisher also said ranked mode and skins would arrive as free post-launch updates. The launch announcement covered PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One. Store availability and current online service operation are separate questions: a listing does not confirm that matchmaking or game servers are functioning.
As observed on October 8, 2026, the US PlayStation Store listing showed a $19.99 price and said online play is required, with PS Plus required for online play. The US Xbox listing also showed $19.99 and said console multiplayer requires an online multiplayer subscription. These are US listing details from that date; prices and subscription terms may differ by region or change over time. Can you still play it online?
The available store information confirms that the game is listed and that online play requires a subscription on the respective console platforms. It does not confirm live server status, current matchmaking quality or player population. Check the game directly for service availability before buying it specifically to play online; no current service-status claim can be established from the storefront listings alone.
