What is actually confirmed about the rumored collection?
Gaming News reported on February 1, 2025, that a remastered collection of the first three Gears of War games might be headed to PlayStation 5. The report attributed the claim to insider eXtas1s and framed it as a rumor, not an announcement from Xbox. Read the original report.

A June 18, 2026 listing in Vandal’s news index described a simultaneous PS5, Xbox and PC trilogy launch as a rumor. That is further rumor coverage, not official confirmation. See Vandal’s Gears of War news index.
As of October 8, 2026, the official product sources cited here do not confirm that the trilogy collection exists. They also do not verify its contents, platform list, cross-play features or release timing. Those details should not be treated as settled.

How the rumored collection differs from Gears of War: Reloaded
Gears of War: Reloaded is a real, released PS5 game, but it is not the rumored three-game collection. Xbox describes it as a remaster of the first Gears of War. Xbox Wire said it launched on August 26, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5 and Steam. PlayStation also maintains an official PS5 product page.
| Detail | Rumored trilogy collection | Gears of War: Reloaded |
|---|---|---|
| Status in cited sources | Rumor; no official collection confirmation located | Officially released |
| Games included | First three games are claimed in the rumor; official contents not confirmed | Remaster of the original Gears of War |
| PS5 availability | Reported as a possible platform; not officially confirmed | Confirmed by Xbox and listed on PlayStation’s PS5 product page |
| Release date | Not officially announced | August 26, 2025, according to Xbox Wire |
Xbox Wire’s launch article calls Reloaded “a remaster of the blockbuster first Gears of War.” Xbox’s Gears Reloaded page and the official PlayStation page likewise identify the released game; neither establishes a trilogy collection.

What can PS5 players play now?
If you want a confirmed Gears of War game on PS5, Gears of War: Reloaded is the related released product. It remasters the first game only, so it is not a substitute for a confirmed collection of the first three. Xbox Wire listed a US suggested retail price of $39.99 at launch in 2025; that historical launch price is not a current-price guarantee. Check the PlayStation Store for current regional price, edition and availability.

A reliable confirmation would need to come from an official Xbox, Gears of War or PlayStation announcement, with the collection’s contents, supported platforms and release date stated directly. Until then, distinguish reports about a possible trilogy from the official Gears of War: Reloaded release.
