Is E-Day a prequel?
Yes. Xbox describes it as an origin-story campaign set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, following Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago at the start of the Locust invasion. What is Kalona?
Kalona is a city created for E-Day. Xbox Wire’s campaign preview describes a Locust ambush there as the invasion erupts from beneath Sera. That gives the campaign a specific urban setting for its opening crisis, rather than presenting the event only as a distant piece of series history. When did Gears of War: E-Day come out?
Xbox lists October 6, 2026 as the global release date. Xbox Wire reported that early access began October 1. The dates are not interchangeable: October 1 was the early-access start, while October 6 was the listed global release.
