Gears of War: Reloaded launched on August 26, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The remaster of the original 2006 game includes its bonus campaign act and expanded multiplayer content; it also supports cross-play, with Microsoft-account sign-in needed for cross-platform parties and cross-progression.
When did Gears of War: Reloaded come out?
Gears of War: Reloaded released on August 26, 2025. Xbox confirmed the date in its May 2025 announcement and marked the game as available on launch day in its August 26 launch article. The announced launch suggested retail price was $39.99; that is not a verified current price.
Which platforms is it on?
Xbox announced releases for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The arrival on PlayStation marked the first time the original Gears of War was brought to that platform. Xbox Play Anywhere was also announced for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC.
Xbox said eligible players who had purchased the digital Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before the announcement cutoff would receive Reloaded as a free upgrade. That was a time-limited historical eligibility offer, not a current purchase promotion.

What differs between platforms?
Xbox
Xbox announced targets of 4K assets and resolution support, 60 FPS in Campaign, and up to 120 FPS in multiplayer. These are advertised targets, not a guarantee that every platform or setup will deliver them identically: results depend on platform hardware, and some resolution and frame-rate claims require a capable display. Xbox also lists HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos support. See the Xbox announcement for its platform qualifications.
PlayStation 5
The PS5 version lists DualSense haptic feedback, controller-speaker support, and adaptive triggers. On PS5 Pro, the PlayStation page also lists PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution and improved shadow and reflection quality. Online console multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus, according to the PlayStation product page.
