The update added the 5-star Pyro sword character Durin, 4-star Anemo bow character Jahoda, two Song of the Welkin Moon acts, new banners, the Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey flagship event and the permanent Witch’s Homework character selector.
Version 6.2 release date and maintenance
Version 6.2 launched on December 3, 2025. HoYoverse called the update Song of the Welkin Moon: Interlude — “A Nocturne of the Far North”, with “Luna III” used as its alternate version name.
Maintenance began at 06:00 (UTC+8) and was estimated to last five hours. Players who had reached Adventure Rank 5 before maintenance began were eligible for 300 Primogems in compensation, calculated at 60 Primogems per hour of downtime. For North American players, the update became playable during the evening of December 2 because of time-zone conversion, but the official release date remained December 3.
Version 6.2 is now a past update: its banner and event cycle concluded on January 13, 2026. See HoYoverse’s official maintenance notice and version overview.

Durin
- Rarity: 5-star

Durin debuted in Phase 1. His kit uses two combat states with different offensive functions, and his release is connected to the update’s Hexerei system and Mondstadt-focused story content. His Story Quest, Draco Rubedo Chapter: Act I — “The Magic Known as Storytelling,” also arrived in Version 6.2. The official update details contain his release information.
Jahoda
- Rarity: 4-star
- Element: Anemo
- Weapon: Bow
Jahoda debuted as a rate-up 4-star character on both Phase 1 character banners. She provides off-field support and healing, with abilities that can interact with enemy elements. She was not a 5-star character; Durin was the new 5-star featured unit in Phase 1.

Phase 2 began on December 23, not after Christmas. The two simultaneous character banners shared the same character-event pity history, as usual for paired Event Wishes. Varesa’s banner was her first rerun in Version 6.2, while Xilonen subsequently received another rerun.

Weapon banners
Phase 1
The Phase 1 Epitome Invocation featured the new 5-star sword Athame Artis and new 5-star bow The Daybreak Chronicles. Both weapons had special interactions with the Hexerei system. HoYoverse’s official weapon overview lists the Phase 1 additions.

Phase 2
Phase 2 paired Vivid Notions, Varesa’s signature 5-star catalyst, with Peak Patrol Song, Xilonen’s signature 5-star sword.
Players could also obtain the event-exclusive 4-star bow Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow through the flagship event.

Version 6.2 events
Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey
The flagship event ran from December 19, 2025, to January 5, 2026. Rewards included Primogems, the Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow, weapon ascension materials, Mora and Serenitea Pot furniture.

Bing-Bang Finchball
This ball-throwing minigame asked players to complete stage objectives using Finchball mechanics. Reported rewards included 420 Primogems, Mora and talent materials.
Stygian Onslaught
The Version 6.2 cycle became available on December 10, 2025 and ran through January 13. It uses sequential battles and selectable difficulty levels. Stygian Onslaught is not a one-time Version 6.2 event: HoYoverse introduced it as a recurring permanent combat mode in Version 5.7, with new cycles appearing in later versions.
Heroic Clash: Saurian Brawl
Running from December 29, 2025, to January 7, 2026, this event let players control Saurian companions in competitive combat challenges. Rewards included Primogems and character-development materials.

Marvelous Merchandise
Liben’s event returned from January 7–12, 2026. Players exchanged requested materials for reward boxes containing Primogems and enhancement materials.

Permanent Witch’s Homework reward
Version 6.2 introduced Witch’s Homework: Solution as a permanently available reward. To unlock it, complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III — “Song of the Dragon and Freedom.” The quest awards The Little Witch’s Dictionary, which lets you choose one 4-star character:
- Fischl
- Sucrose
- Razor
The selector does not expire with a limited-time event. It remains available after Luna III, subject to the Archon Quest requirement. HoYoverse explains the reward in its official Witch’s Homework notice.

The update added:
- Song of the Welkin Moon — Act V: “A Nocturne of the Far North”
- Song of the Welkin Moon — Act VI: “Melting Moonlight in the Morning Mist”

- Super-Heavy Landrover: Mechanized Fortress, a new enemy

Known issues and fixes
A cosmetic issue affected the “Candlelit Wizard: Pumpkin Candy” Manekina headwear when “Hide Back of Hair” was enabled; the bun could show the wrong hair color. A separate Test Run record issue affected some players who already owned certain Natlan characters and had completed their earlier Test Run challenge. Starting with Version 6.2, Test Run eligibility used first-time completion records for the relevant challenge.
A later Version 6.2 fix addressed cases where unlocked bosses did not appear in the Adventurer Handbook’s Enemies section. For affected issues, HoYoverse instructed some players to choose Paimon Menu → Exit to Login Interface, close the game and log in again. What Version 6.2 was known for
Luna III was a story- and Mondstadt-focused update built around Durin, Hexerei and the northern arc of Song of the Welkin Moon. Its most lasting additions were Durin and Jahoda’s debut, the new story acts, the permanent Fischl/Sucrose/Razor selector and the recurring Stygian Onslaught cycle. Because the version ended on January 13, 2026, current guides should describe Version 6.2 in the past tense rather than as an upcoming release.
