Customers ordering through the McDonald’s app could choose an Apple Pie or a Deluxe McCrispy Meal, with different in-game rewards attached to each. Orders ended September 29, 2024, and the associated codes expired October 29, 2024.
When did the Genshin Impact McDonald’s promotion run?
The collaboration was available in the United States from September 17 through September 29, 2024. The official Genshin Impact YouTube channel announced the September 17 launch in a trailer description posted September 10, 2024. The food offer ended on September 29; codes had a separate, later deadline of October 29, 2024, at 23:59:59 (UTC-9).
Both the purchase period and redemption period have passed. The promotion should not be treated as an active way to order the featured items or claim the rewards.
What did each purchase include?
The two choices had distinct rewards: the Apple Pie code offered game resources and a recipe, while the Deluxe McCrispy Meal code offered two cosmetic items.

| Purchase option | Food and packaging | In-game rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Genshin Impact Apple Pie | A McDonald’s apple pie in special packaging featuring Kaedehara Kazuha and Beidou. | 40 Primogems; the Golden Apple Pastry recipe and three servings; 20,000 Mora; four Mystic Enhancement Ore; and two Hero’s Wit. |
| Genshin Impact Deluxe McCrispy Meal | A McCrispy, fries, a beverage, and an apple pie. | The Wings of Delicacies wind glider and the Celebration: Crispy and Sweet namecard. |
The rewards were tied to separate purchase paths, not a single combined bundle: the Apple Pie offered consumable resources and a recipe, while the meal offered a glider and namecard.
How were the codes obtained?
Customers had to order the collaboration item through the McDonald’s app. The published instructions were to sign in to the app using the email associated with MyMcDonald’s Rewards, select the collaboration item, and receive the code by email. The trailer description then directed players to sign in to the Genshin Impact gift page and enter the code. These were the original instructions for the 2024 offer; they do not make expired codes redeemable now.

Was the promotion available outside the United States?
No. HoYoverse’s announcement and the collaboration materials described a U.S. promotion. The agency case study from Allied Global Marketing says the campaign was available through the app and digital kiosk point-of-sale across 14,000 McDonald’s stores in the United States. That store count is the agency’s reported campaign coverage, not an indication that the offer was available internationally.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What campaign results were reported?
Allied Global Marketing reported a social reach of 1.2 billion for the campaign. That is the agency’s figure; the reviewed materials do not establish it as an independently validated audience count. The agency also described the Genshin meal as having the highest digital in-app product penetration of all time, but did not provide a numerical rate, define the comparison set, or date the comparison. It is therefore best understood as an attributed agency claim rather than an independently audited ranking.
