What Ghost of Yōtei update 1.008 fixes
The official Sucker Punch patch notes group the changes into four categories:

Performance and stability
- Fixed a rare crash during a Wolf Den mission in Gun Valley.
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur when moving the camera during combat with lock-on enabled.
- Fixed a crash that could happen after the game had been idle for more than one hour.
The notes identify these three situations but do not claim broader performance improvements.
Gameplay
The patch fixes a permanent progression blocker in “A Fiery Consequence.” The issue could occur if Atsu entered Matsumae through the side entrance and then quickly left to start a different mission.

Environment

What the official notes do not confirm
Early coverage discussed possible issues before Sucker Punch published its definitive list. The official 1.008 notes do not list fixes for Zeni Hajiki coin visibility, audio problems, or general performance tuning. Those should not be treated as confirmed changes in this update. For the complete list, use the official changelog; MP1st’s October 4 report is earlier secondary context, not the final fix list.
