The Gleebous mutation can be caught only in the water surrounding the crashed UFO in Roslit Bay. Use GPS to reach -1441.2, 133, 262.9, cast on either side of the UFO, and repeat catches until the mutation appears. For the best farming speed, use a rod with the Mutated enchant and prioritize high Lure and Progress Speed.

The valid fishing water is on both sides of the UFO crash site. If you use Fish Radar, look for the light-green overlay around the UFO and cast inside that highlighted area. Nearby water outside the highlighted pool may not count.

- Open the in-game GPS and enter or follow
-1441.2, 133, 262.9. - Travel to Roslit Bay and locate the crashed UFO manually, then fish directly around it.
Do not confuse the hotspot with the broader Roslit Bay coordinate -1450, 135, 750. That coordinate identifies the region, but the reported Gleebous fishing location is the more precise UFO-area pool. Beebom and All Things How both identify the crashed-UFO waters as the relevant location.

What Gleebous is—and what it is not
Gleebous is a mutation applied to a fish you catch, not a separate fish species. Keep fishing in the UFO pool and check each catch for the Gleebous result.
The location restriction matters: the retrieved guides state that fish caught elsewhere do not roll Gleebous. Fishing somewhere else in Roslit Bay, or at a different island, is not a substitute for fishing beside the UFO.

1. Put Mutated on your rod
The most consistently supported optimization is to apply the Mutated enchant to a suitable rod before farming. The enchant is described as increasing mutation rolls, and it does not require a specific endgame rod.

2. Choose speed over maximum fish value
For mutation farming, the goal is to create as many catch attempts as possible. Prioritize:
- High Lure: reduces the time spent waiting for a bite.
- High Progress Speed: helps finish catches faster.
- Mutated: improves the mutation-focused setup described by the guides.
Named rod options reported by the guides include:

3. Fish continuously at the UFO
Once positioned in the highlighted water:
- Cast into the water immediately around the crashed UFO.
- Complete each catch and inspect the result for the Gleebous mutation.
- Cast again without leaving the pool.
- Continue until you obtain the mutation.
There is no source-supported fixed number of casts or guaranteed time limit. Treat it as a repeated mutation roll rather than a one-time interaction.

Rod passive and Mutation Surge caveats
Some players recommend avoiding rods whose built-in mutation passive competes with the natural Gleebous roll. This is a community optimization, not a documented official rule. If you have a choice, a rod with Mutated and no conflicting mutation passive may be preferable, but do not abandon a workable rod solely because of an unverified interaction.

Community reports also disagree about Mutation Surge. Some players say it helps Gleebous, while others say it does not affect the Gleebous roll. The retrieved evidence does not verify either position, so Mutation Surge should not be treated as a guaranteed requirement or a guaranteed boost.
Can the Appraiser give you Gleebous?
No. The detailed guides state that Gleebous cannot be generated through the Appraiser. Appraising, buying, or rerolling fish is therefore not a farming method for this mutation. Catch fish directly in the Roslit Bay UFO pool instead.
What to do after catching Gleebous
Gleebous is required for Dr. Crookspine’s Glorp-related progression and is associated with obtaining the Blade of Glorp.

One guide reports that you should hold the Gleebous fish and return to Dr. Crookspine at The Laboratory, listed at -1915, 225, -530, then submit it. Because this turn-in coordinate and interaction behavior are reported by one guide rather than multiple sources, use the current quest marker or Dr. Crookspine’s dialogue if the location does not match your version.
Common mistakes
- Fishing anywhere in Roslit Bay: the relevant area is the crashed UFO pool, not every body of water in the region.
- Using
-1450, 135, 750as the exact hotspot: this is a broader Roslit Bay navigation point, not the more specific Gleebous coordinate. - Fishing outside the Fish Radar overlay: cast in the light-green highlighted water when the radar is active.
- Trying to appraise a fish into Gleebous: the mutation must be obtained through fishing in the restricted area.
- Assuming an endgame rod is mandatory: the reported setup works with any suitable rod carrying Mutated, although faster rods produce more attempts per minute.
