God of War III Remastered can reportedly be played on Windows through an unofficial community port—not an official Sony PC release. DSOGaming reported on October 12, 2026 that the alpha project runs from the opening through the final fight, but may still contain bugs and glitches. It requires a specific PS4 game build, and its reported performance figures come from one PC configuration, not a general system requirement.
What the unofficial Windows port offers
According to DSOGaming’s October 12, 2026 report, the project is playable from the opening through the final fight, with menus, cutscenes, music, voices, and sound effects working. It supports keyboard and mouse, key rebinding, and DualSense, Xbox, and other gamepads. The reported launcher includes settings and save backups; in-game options include frame limits, FSR 1, overlays, mods, and cheats.

That reported completeness does not make it a finished or officially supported release. DSOGaming describes the project as alpha and cautions that bugs and glitches may occur. Sony has not been reported as releasing or endorsing this Windows port.

What you need to run it
DSOGaming specifies a copy of God of War III Remastered for PS4, build CUSA01623, updated to version 01.02. The report does not establish that every regional disc or digital listing matches that build, or that other builds will work. Check the edition and update before relying on a copy for this project; buying the game does not guarantee compatibility with the unofficial port.

Reported performance—and what it does not prove
DSOGaming reports an average of 144 FPS at 1080p, with dips to 55 FPS and peaks of 240 FPS, on a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32 GB of RAM, and a Radeon RX 6700 XT. On that same setup, the outlet reports an average of 108 FPS at 4K with FSR. These are the outlet’s results for its described configuration, published October 12, 2026—not independent benchmarks, minimum requirements, or a promise of similar performance on another PC.

Why Bloodborne is part of the comparison
The timing evokes the recent Bloodborne community-port news, but neither story represents an official Sony PC launch. GamesRadar’s October 9, 2026 coverage discussed fan-made Bloodborne PC projects, including a project release post dated October 7. It also reported skepticism about one project’s claims and AI-assisted development; those are the outlet’s characterizations, not independently verified findings here.
DSOGaming attributes the God of War III project to a chain of community work: it says the port is based on Supermedo’s Windows port, itself built on deadinside28’s Bloodborne PC project, with God of War III fixes from cuesta4’s shadPS4 fork. That is the outlet’s account of the project’s lineage; the repositories were not independently inspected for this report.

Is God of War: Laufey coming to PC or Steam?
As of PC Gamer’s June 2, 2026 report, God of War: Laufey had been announced for PlayStation 5, and the outlet considered a PC version unlikely in the foreseeable future based on its reporting about Sony’s strategy. That is a report about the current outlook, not proof that a PC or Steam release will never happen or that Sony has adopted a permanent policy. The same article notes that God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarök, and Valhalla had previously come to PC. See PC Gamer’s report on Laufey and PC availability for that time-sensitive assessment.
