The PC version of God of War Ragnarök includes a Reduced puzzle hints option that makes companions offer puzzle hints less often. It is not described as a way to turn hints off completely. Santa Monica Studio announced the setting on September 18, 2024, ahead of the PC release on September 19.
How to reduce companion puzzle hints
Open Gameplay Settings and enable Reduced puzzle hints. Santa Monica Studio Communications Director Grace Orlady described the option as reducing “the frequency with which you hear puzzle hints from your companions.” The announcement does not say that every hint is suppressed, so treat it as a frequency adjustment rather than a hint-off switch. Santa Monica Studio’s September 18, 2024 announcement says the option debuted on PC and would soon be added to console versions.
What the PC release adds beyond the hint setting
The reduced-hints option is one of several PC-specific features. Sony’s May 30, 2024 announcement listed unlocked framerates, 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide support, and upscaling options from NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS. It also said the Valhalla DLC and New Game+ would be included at launch. Sony’s PC announcement identified Jetpack Interactive as development partner and set September 19, 2024, as the release date.
The launch post named Steam and Epic Games Store as PC purchase channels and noted a PlayStation Network account requirement at that time. Those statements are dated; they do not establish current account requirements or regional purchase availability. The same post said the reduced-hints option would come to console soon, but the announcement alone does not verify its present console availability.
