Who is Gogmazios?
Gogmazios is an Elder Dragon in the Monster Hunter series. The official PlayStation Monster Hunter Wilds page describes it as “the giant halberd dragon” and says it emerges from deep beneath Azuz. The monster first appeared in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, according to a secondary series reference.

How does the Gogmazios hunt work in Monster Hunter Wilds?
The special quest is staffed by four hunters and four support hunters, making an eight-combatant team. Capcom France’s official recap likewise describes the encounter as a team of eight. The available official descriptions establish the hunt’s setting and staffing, but do not provide enough detail to prescribe a specific build or combat strategy.
What do Gogmazios materials make?
Combine Gogmazios materials with Artian Weapons to create Gogma Artian Weapons. The official PlayStation page says these weapons gain an additional Set Bonus Skill and Group Skill. Capcom France adds that bonuses from the original Artian Weapon transfer to its Gogma version, while one Set Bonus Skill and one Group Skill are awarded randomly.

The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
When did Gogmazios arrive in Wilds?
The official PlayStation page lists Title Update 4 as available from December 16, 2025. That is the stated availability date for the update, rather than a claim about what is currently installed on any player’s game; check your game version for current access.

Gogmazios predates its Wilds appearance. The Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate database Kiranico lists the quests “Advanced: Quagmire Quarrel” and “Advanced: Act of Gog,” and associates Gogmazios with Rarity 10 weapons. Those are details of the older game; they do not establish that its quest mechanics, equipment, or tactics carry over to Wilds.
