For quick, low-instruction party rounds, Press “A” to Party is the clearest fit: it has six arcade games controlled with one button and local competitive modes for two to four players on one Nintendo Switch. If you want a simple party fighter, consider Goonya Fighter; for a traditional arcade brawler, try Eight Dragons; and for rhythm inputs mixed with co-op puzzles, look at Super Crazy Rhythm Castle. These are feature-based matches, not a tested ranking: “button-mashing” can mean either frantic pressing or just easy controls.
What counts as a button-mashing game?
“Button-mashing” is a loose description, not a precise genre. It can mean a game that rewards repeated, frantic inputs, or one with simple controls that are easy to pick up at a party. The games below cover both meanings, but they play differently: one-button arcade rounds, a party fighter with mash-to-recover mechanics, a beat ’em up, and a rhythm-and-puzzle adventure.
Which button-mashing game fits your group?
| Game | What you do | Players and play modes | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press “A” to Party | Play six arcade minigames with one-button controls | Solo high-score mode; competitive play for 2–4 players on one system | Quick, accessible party rounds on Nintendo Switch |
| Goonya Fighter | Fight using four actions; the product description calls out button-bashing and stick-twiddling to recover | Up to four players; local and online modes are described | Chaotic party fighting with simple actions |
| Eight Dragons | Play an arcade-inspired beat ’em up; difficulty and game speed are adjustable | 1–4 players in local co-op | Classic brawler structure with control over pace |
| Super Crazy Rhythm Castle | Combine rhythm inputs with cooperative puzzle tasks; music modes use three or four buttons | Solo or up to four players | Groups that want timing and coordination alongside puzzles |
Four games to consider
Press “A” to Party: the most literal one-button pick
Nintendo’s US listing describes six arcade games, single-button controls, a single-player high-score mode, and competitive modes for two to four players on one system. Nintendo lists it as a digital Nintendo Switch game, not a cartridge. The listing gives a March 30, 2021 release date and says Switch 2 compatibility is supported, with behavior consistent with Switch. See Nintendo’s listing.
Goonya Fighter: simple party fighting
MUTAN’s page for the PS5 JigglyHaptic Edition describes four actions, up to four-player party play, and recovery by button-bashing and stick-twiddling. It also notes haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for that edition. The product page describes online and local modes; check the edition and platform details for the version you plan to play. See MUTAN’s product page.

Eight Dragons: a co-op arcade brawler
If “button-mashing” means repeated attacks in a traditional beat ’em up, Eight Dragons is the closest match here. JanduSoft describes one-to-four-player local co-op, adjustable difficulty, and adjustable game speed. Its page lists Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, and PS5, and gives a May 25, 2021 release date. The page states US$7.99 / €7.99, but that is not a verified current checkout price. See JanduSoft’s game page.
Super Crazy Rhythm Castle: rhythm timing plus co-op puzzles
This is a better fit if your group wants more than frantic pressing. Konami describes a co-op rhythm adventure with puzzles, music modes using three or four buttons, and support for up to four players. One player can focus on puzzle tasks while another handles music inputs. Konami lists PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its page’s 2023 copyright notice does not establish current price or stock. See Konami’s game page.
